China's Hour!

GN for February 2000

By Maria Maria #515 CM/FM 3273 9/99

Dear Family,

1. Recently the Lord has been speaking to us quite a bit about the wonderful mission field of China. It's a sensitive field, one that requires great sacrifices, and one that is vast and relatively untouched with the Gospel. We have several Family missionary teams there, and you've heard some of the wonderful testimonies of what the Lord has done through them in recent Grapevine articles. [See GV 41, 42, 57, 58‚ 60, 67 and 69.]

2. It's such a needy and receptive field. It's a very special field, and those who go there as missionaries have a very special calling. You have to be willing to learn the language—which in itself is a formidable task—and adapt to the customs and culture of the people if you're going to reach them effectively. You have to have patience and faith to wait for results‚ because you have to minister slowly and cautiously, and with great wisdom. You have to be very prayerful, determined to follow the Lord step by step, and willing to literally lay down your life as a martyr if need be—because for those of you who minister there, that's an ever-present possibility.

3. I really admire those of you who have chosen to heed the Lord's call to China, because I know it's not an easy field. There are sacrifices that you've had to make and continue to make which are fairly unique to that field, and the operating conditions are difficult. There's a pretty big language barrier to overcome, the country's policies towards foreigners and religion are not very open or favorable, to say the least, and you often have to live in small teams and Homes without much fellowship. Some of you brave pioneers live in such distant cities that there are no other Homes or Family members to fellowship with even occasionally.

4. The Lord is calling more and more of our Family to go to China to help reap the very great harvest which He promises is there. In a recent message the Lord said, "I wish to give a clear sound of the trumpet that China is one of the most needy fields in the world at this time, one of the places where My children can be the most effective, and their labors the most far-reaching." In another recent message He said, "China truly is a receptive and needy field, but as I have said in the past, the door will not be open forever. So the sooner My Family missionaries can go to spread My love and the Words of David‚ the better."

5. In this GN, I want to share with you some of what the Lord has poured out about the very great need there, the reward that awaits those who heed the call and go, as well as some instruction and counsel for those of you who are there or who are planning to go, on how to be more effective, more fruitful, and fulfill the mission the Lord has set before you. Lastly, the Lord puts forth a plea for our prayers for China and our precious missionaries there. After reading this GN, I pray you'll have more of a vision of the great need in China, and that it will move you to seek the Lord as to what you can personally do about it!

So Many Wait To Be Loved!

6. (Jesus speaking:) Do you hear the whispers? Do you hear the voices calling out to you from those who need you? Do you feel the pull at your heart, the desperation, the knowledge that they must be reached‚ they must be loved, they must be kissed with the Words of My mouth, with the sweet honey of My lips?

7. So many do not know My love. So many are in bondage to the ways of their past. So many are searching, not knowing whether there is any truth to be found. So many feel that hunger inside, the great dearth and vacuum for the things of My Spirit, but do not know how to fill it.

8. Do you know the land that I speak of? Do you see their shining eyes, wet with tears—tears of desire for freedom, for love, for the beauty that only My Spirit can bring? There are millions of them. And they all have a need. Unlike the glutted fields of the West, many have never heard My Name spoken. They know Me not, but they know that they hunger for spirit, for truth, for love, and I am all of these things. They are My sheep, and though they do not know that I'm their Shepherd‚ yet they will recognize My voice when they hear it. They are waiting to be called.

9. I speak of the vast land of China—the land where some of My greatest heroes of faith have lived and died. Their spirits live on, and they long to live in you, My children of David. There are so many there who need the truth. There are so many who would give their lives to help their people find the truth‚ but first they must be instructed. First they must receive the truth themselves, and then when they find it, they'll be willing to give their lives to spread it and share it with others.

10. China is a land of labor leaders. China is a land of missionaries waiting to be discovered, who only need a bit of love, encouragement, and direction, and then they will turn around and help to feed the masses‚ the millions who are hungering and thirsting after that which only I can give.

11. Oh‚ My precious children of David, you are so rich in the spirit! You have been given so much. Do you long to be able to pour out all that you've been given? Do you seek for an outlet for the rivers of living water which I have put within you? Are you tired of approaching people who have already been given a choice to receive the truth, and have rejected it? Are you willing to lay down your life, as a martyr if need be, so that others might find eternal life and know that I love them? If you answer yes to these questions, seek Me as to whether I'm calling you to this beautiful, vast‚ thirsty and waiting nation—China, land of My children waiting to be born‚ land of My babies waiting to be fed.

12. If you are unfulfilled, wanting to give your life fully to a cause which you know needs you, which will consume you, which will take your life and your love and multiply your efforts over and over again‚ come to Me and ask Me whether I've put that longing within you so that you might find fulfillment in China—in feeding the multitudes who are so needy, so in need of shepherds.

13. I know that not all of you will be able to go in person. But I have another calling for those of you who cannot go. Do you ever awake in the night, wondering what you have waked up for? The baby is quiet, there are no noises around—who woke you? I woke you, My love. I need you to pray for My missionaries in China. Do you ever wish you could be doing more, and yet you know that you are called to remain where you are? I have put that desire in your heart because I need your prayers for China. I need your love for them, translated into your prayers—fervent, desperate, unceasing. Through your prayers, those who are able to go will be strengthened. They will be protected. They will be led by Me. They will fulfill the mission that I have called them to. And you will fulfill your mission through them.

14. Read on, My loves. Read the Words of life that I have given about this great nation that is so needy. Now is China's hour. Now is the time when she can be reached with the Words of love‚ the Words of David. Now is the time to strengthen the national church, to prepare for the dark days ahead. Read on, My loves. I have much more to give. (End of message from Jesus.)

The Desperate Need for Teachers!

—From a Chinese Christian

15. (Mama:) In that message, the Lord talked about those who are just waiting to be taught, who will then turn around and teach others. He said that China is a land of labor leaders. There certainly are more people in China than we could ever reach personally—even if the whole Family was to move to China! So it's wonderful to know that the Lord has especially prepared people there to take the message to their own people, and thus spread His love and His Word far and wide. The convicting thing is that they're waiting for someone to come and teach them—to give them the truth so that they can give it to others.

16. Following is a very moving message from a departed Chinese Christian that explains more of the desperate hunger that they have, and the need for someone to come and teach them‚ to give them the truth. Many know the Lord already, but have so little of His truth. They know they believe, but they lack even the basic foundation stones of the Word, and they have an incredible hunger to learn. House churches are expanding and gaining converts at an incredible rate, but they lack teachers, pastors, and shepherds.

17. You'll notice in the following message that this dear Chinese Christian refers to the "God of the West" and calls out to "those of the West" to come and help them. We asked the Lord about that, because our God is the God of all His children in every land, and we have faithful missionaries from many countries—Western and Eastern—who are doing the job side by side. The Lord gave a very interesting answer which gives extra insight into the precious Chinese and the way they see things.

18. (Jesus speaking:) This message is from a Chinese Christian, and is delivered in the way that many Chinese look at things. I am a God of all—West and East—but to those who are learning of My message for the first time in China‚ I am seen very much as the "God of the West." That is one reason why it is so hard for them to accept Me until they personally experience My love and find it true, and even then they have to buck against tradition and family, for most consider Me the "God of the West."

19. I do not want My missionaries going to China to act as if I am the God of the West, but at the same time they must understand that many will see it that way at first. It will take time for the people to learn and accept that I am their God as well. It is not because I wish to be seen as the "God of the West," but because I am associated with the lands of the West, until they learn of My love personally and see that I am for them as much as for any other nationality, they will relate to Me as the "God of the West."

20. And as for why he calls to "those of the West" to come and help them, this Chinese Christian can see that there are many, many‚ many in the West who know Me, and yet do nothing to spread My love to others. They live in lands where that knowledge is not valued‚ because so many have it. There is no need for them to reach out to others there and share the truth, because all have it available to them if they want it. And so he is crying out to those who are there in those lands, because he sees that they are not needed where they are.

21. Having been in such great need himself, he does not call to those who are in other needy fields, for he knows that they are needed where they are. But he calls to those who are not needed where they are, that they might come and see the need and be motivated to become one with his people and there find their mission of sharing My love. (End of message from Jesus)

22. (Chinese Christian spirit speaking: ) Behold, we are those that cry out from the Yangtze River, and from beyond the Yangtze River where our people have been slaughtered. We have been herded like sheep to the slaughter because we professed the God of the West. But we profess still. We stay and we meet in small houses. We're willing to cry out to the God of the universe Who has reached out and touched us in our low estate. For does He not reach down and touch those who are of low estate to make them that are nothing into what He wants them to be?

23. We call out to those of the West, "Come to shepherd us, to teach us!" We who have not, call unto you who have. Though you may think that you have not, you have much. We have not. We have only the desire to hear the Lord our God, to read the pamphlets, to hear the Words of life‚ that we may be nourished. We can live on but a morsel of rice, and we can live on but a morsel of bread, and we can live on but a morsel of the Word of God, if you would give it to us.

24. We seek only to eke out an existence, for each day of our lives is as misery. But when we call upon the Name of the Lord, then we have joy, and then we have surcease from our suffering and from our pain. For He has come that we might have life abundant. And though we have not life abundant in this life, we have it in the world to come.

25. Therefore we call unto you of the West, for we need you. We need the Words. We need you to come and reach out to us. We are a darkened people. We live in a darkened land‚ but each ray of light will shine so brightly if you would be willing to light only a candle that we may see in the midst of the darkness. You come from a land with so much brightness. You who have been from a small child given so much light, can you not share a candle with us? (Weeping.)

26. You take your blessings for granted, and even cast them aside. You've been given so much, and we so little. What you've been given could feed whole towns, cities, and provinces. We have so little. You have so much! Can you not share it with us? Can you not reach out to us? Can you not pray for us, and come to our lands? Will you come, reach out to us, touch us, hold us?

27. Bring the light of your countenance, the light of your Savior, that it may shine upon us. Bring light to us! Bring the Rice of Life, which we need desperately! We cry out to you. We are they that can live on but a handful of rice. You have bountiful granaries stored in your heart, but you give it not.

28. Please give to us. We seek, we cry from the lands of the Yangtze River unto you. Our people have been slaughtered. We've been herded and killed. We have suffered. We cry out to you. Give us even the crumbs that you cast aside from your plate.

29. We call for the youth of this generation to come to us, to speak to us‚ to help us. You may come via the air waves, you may come via the sea waves, you may come overland. Do as your Lord leads you‚ and we will receive you. We will receive from you. You must be as the missionaries of old who came to us, whose teachings we still teach, whose morsels of bread and rice we still pass around, whose words we have memorized, whose lives have become legends that inspire us, that motivate us to tell others of the God of the West.

30. We see our people in darkness. The love‚ the joy that we long for and seek is so abundant to you that you take it for granted. You know not the blessing which you've been born into‚ raised in, and surrounded by all your life. We call unto you. Please help us! Please help us! (End of message from Chinese spirit.)

31. (Mama: ) This dear Chinese Christian makes a special plea to you young people‚ "you who have been given so much light from the time you were a small child." You might not realize how much you have when you're surrounded by other Family members who know all the same things you do, and are more or less on the same level spiritually. But if you were to get out among the hungry Chinese, you'd realize how very rich you are in the spirit‚ how much you know, how much truth you've been given!

32. Obviously, not all of us can move to China. But the Lord is sending out a desperate plea to help reach China now, in her time of need. So please take the time to personally ask Him how He wants you to answer the call—whether by actually going there to be a missionary, or by giving to the work in China financially or otherwise, or by supporting them through your fervent and unceasing prayers! Each of us can help in some way—and now is the time to do it!

33. (Jesus speaking:) They long for orgasms of the Spirit. They long to be touched by My Spirit. You must gently bring them to Me. You must have patience with them. They feel that no one cares. Yet I have loved them with an everlasting love.

34. They long for loving fingers that can touch them. They long for you. They long for your touch of love. They long for Me. They know not what beauties await them, but it matters not. With one touch, they can be drawn into My love.

35. They want only a little—a mere touch, a morsel of your love. They do not yet know all that My Spirit holds for them, the height and width and depth of the ecstasies of My love. They do not even know all that I have for them; all they want is a little morsel of rice. They hold out their bowls for but a morsel of rice, which you can give easily. (End of message from Jesus)

36. (Mama:) As we were preparing this GN for publication, we came across a very interesting news article which confirms what the Lord has said in these messages about the need for teachers, and how far your witness goes. I'll put excerpts of it for you here.

Chinese Christians need teachers

(Religion Today) China's house churches are growing so fast that some Christians haven't had time to grow up.

Explosive growth of the movement is outpacing the spiritual development of its members, Steve Snyder of International Christian Concern told Religion Today. Chinese Christians need teachers "so they can sit at their feet and learn," he said.

There are an estimated 70 million house-church members in China. Evangelistic zeal of its members spread the underground movement like wildfire in the past 20 years, Snyder said. Itinerant preachers hold meetings in forests, on mountaintops, and other out-of-the-way places. New Christians begin evangelizing almost immediately, and about 25,000 a day are added to the church, he said.

Church leaders are unable to disciple so many new believers. Most house-church leaders have little training in doctrine, Snyder said. An American Christian has "a wealth of knowledge" compared to the average Chinese Christian who leads a network of 1,000 people. A network leader "is one who has been a Christian for two or three years and maybe has been exposed to some kind of mini-seminary course taught by an outside agency."

Those beneath him have even less training. New Christians are eager to tell others about their faith, but aren't equipped to disciple them. Heresies often sprout up because someone who has been a Christian for only a few weeks is looked upon as a mentor by those he has converted.

Radio Bible classes have been effective. Ministries such as the Far East Broadcasting Company and Trans World Radio broadcast Christian teaching into the country, and those who have radios gather to glean what they can. "Radio is probably the most widely used way to help instruct Christians," Snyder said. "They have no materials‚ but they are still able to get some teaching."

The Christians need study Bibles and teachers. "They need teaching on the basic doctrines, and people who will come and help them learn," Snyder said. International Christian Concern sends materials and arranges for qualified American Christians—"anyone who has a heart for China and some Bible school training"—to travel to the country and teach house-church Christians.

Dedication Needed

In Order to Survive!

37. (Mama:) Next I'd like to share with you some messages of encouragement and instruction we've received from the Lord and Dad for you who are living and working in China, or who are preparing to go. You'll see that Taiwan is also included in this instruction, and the reason for this is that, although it's not as tight there, it is a gateway to China, because most Family members wanting to go to China spend some time in Taiwan first‚ getting prepared, learning the language and customs, etc. It's therefore a very important field, and though small by comparison‚ what the Family does there can have a great effect on the work in the very large country of China.

38. As you'll see in the following messages, the Lord puts the standard pretty high for those of you who choose to work in this needy field as His representatives to the precious Chinese people. But He also promises great rewards, fulfillment, happiness, blessings, and a very great harvest—promises which make the sacrifices seem very small by comparison!

How to Be Successful

As a Missionary in China!

39. (Jesus speaking: ) How My heart longs for and yearns for My precious children of Chinese lands! How their spirits hunger for Me and for My truth! For they've been caged and trapped in darkness for many centuries, held in the grip of the Enemy, of Chinese spirits and demons that sought to keep them from discovering the light of My truth. Yet My light has never been quenched; the fire of My Spirit and truth has never been extinguished.

40. There have been faithful ones who I have called, who have given their lives to reach My Chinese children down through the ages, from generation to generation. These have been very sacrificial ones, very loyal ones to My cause, and I've always required much of them. This land has often been a difficult one, a battleground reserved for the strongest and most dedicated. They've had to fight and struggle and do battle with the Evil One, and have had to have great patience and endurance even to win their first Chinese soul to Me. Yet I've been able to do miracles on their behalf, and little by little, My rays of light have started to spread throughout this land.

41. Now, at this time in history, there is a spirit of receptivity and great hunger among these people. The common people‚ and even the officials of the land, have become more open and inquisitive about new things, more desirous of information and input. The truth is that in their hearts many seek for answers, and they're hoping to find them through these outside influences, through the media‚ and through the things that they read and hear from other lands.

42. They seem to desire and hunger for worldly things, but the truth is that they hunger for My Spirit. They're thirsty for the waters of My Word. They're hungry for the bread of life. But they don't know it, for they don't know Me or even know of Me. They don't realize that much of what they receive from the outside world will not slake their thirst or satisfy their hunger; yet their openness in general is a good thing, for it makes them open for that which will satisfy and fill them. As a people, they've been kept in spiritual darkness for very long, and though the flickers of the light of My truth have shone hither and thither, there's still so much darkness.

43. My children‚ I have called you to be bearers of My light and love to these lost and lonely people. It's a high calling, yet a dangerous one, and one not for all. If you'd be willing to give My love and eternal life to these people, you must even be willing to give your own life, to lose it in My service. Some of you who I have called to this land will become martyrs for your faith. Others of you will die daily in your service to Me through the sacrifices that must be made, even the giving up of some freedoms that you're accustomed to and have held dear.

44. If you want to be one of My chosen emissaries to this land, you must go in with the heart and spirit of a true missionary. I know you each have weaknesses, faults and lacks‚ but you'll have to keep these in check and be desperate in prayer about them for the sake of My lost sheep. I hear their cries and I want to send you to save them, but I'll only be able to use those who are truly dedicated and who have given themselves to Me in body, soul, and spirit.

45. When you come to this land, though you're protected by My Spirit and many angels, you're on the Enemy's territory, for his evil spirits dominate the land. I have in recent times released many good spirits to fight on your behalf, and My light is little by little gaining strongholds throughout the country. Yet the darkness is still great‚ and the powers of darkness are strong. It's for this reason that you must be sober, vigilant, ever on guard against the attacks of the Enemy, for he will try to get in through weak links or in weak moments.

46. If there are Homes or individuals who are not walking in love or in unity with their brethren, who are selfishly seeking to achieve their own goals or agenda‚ or proudly walking in their own spirit without acknowledging Me and heeding the counsel of others, I will not be able to bless such ones or cause them to prosper.

47. The reaching of this land must be done in the spirit, through the Spirit, by the Spirit. It must be done by seeking Me every step of the way. First you must make your calling and election sure, and know that you are chosen by Me to be a missionary to this land. Secondly, you must seek Me step by step as to where to go‚ how to operate‚ who to reach, what to say, what to do—as well as what not to do, where not to go‚ who not to speak with‚ and what not to say. I am able to lead and guide and instruct you in all these things if you will seek Me and be desperate.

48. I can give you much understanding and insight and many wise cautions through the words of your brethren who have lived and worked in and shepherded these fields for many years. You are wise to take heed to the counsel that you're offered and take it to heart, for these are pearls of wisdom passed on from those who know the ropes—some of whom have even suffered great persecution for My Name's sake in these lands‚ and who have since learned many ways to avoid it so they can continue operating and doing My work.

49. Yet even if there's no one around to counsel with about a certain matter, or instruct or guide you when you're still new to the land, My Spirit can lead and guide you into all truth and help you steer clear of the Enemy's traps, if you will come to Me and seek Me.

50. This is a key to reaching China: that you are open and receptive to My Spirit, hungering for My Words, and desiring to do My will above your own. Yes, these things are requirements for My missionaries everywhere to some extent, but on this field, your commitment and openness to My guidance and shepherding must be complete, total, and without reservation.

51. Once you get here‚ you don't have time to dabble in this or that worldly habit, or fool around and take your time deciding whether you want to be fully committed, or whether you want to take up the new weapons, or whether you want to work in unity with your brethren, or whether you want to follow the counsel of leadership. On the fields of China and Taiwan I will require strict loyalty and obedience to My Word, and that each one strive with all that is within them to uphold the standard of My Word and the Charter, and not become slack in any way.

52. There are things that I ask you to give up and leave behind so you can fulfill your mission for Me here. Some of these precautionary measures I ask you to take are for your own safety and security, such as the way you receive your mailings and how you handle your telephone and e-mail communications, who you associate with and who you do not. All these things must be done very carefully, lest information fall into the wrong hands and bring an end to your stay‚ or cause you to suffer bodily harm. Along with this, there are certain customs you must honor in order to not offend either the simple people or the officials. If you do things that mock their customs or upset their routines, when you could keep them happy by putting forth a little extra effort, you place yourself in an unsafe position.

53. There are other things I ask you to leave behind for the sake of your sample to My lost sheep. These are the excess baggage of the world, and especially the American and Western ways. This includes your manner of dress, hairstyle‚ jewelry, and overall appearance‚ as well as your speech and general behavior.

54. These Asian people are meek and quiet, generally humble‚ innocent and plain. And though they're interested in the things of the West to some extent, they generally don't respect or approve of those who are loud, brash, unkempt or disheveled in appearance, or who break the traditions and mores of their land. There may be some of the youth to whom this could be attractive, and in some cases I'll lead you to be a little freer in witnessing to them, a little bolder in the things you say or the way you act. But in public places, or when ministering to those of influence or power, or just the general average people you interact with, I would ask you to behave more meekly and mildly.

55. I would ask you to set aside your pride, your personal preferences, and take on My garment of humility. I would ask you to become one in spirit and in manner. Though you may look different, though you may not speak their language fluently, though your style of dress may be slightly different, yet you must make a valiant and wholehearted effort to become like them in whatever ways you can. This is the key to reaching them and connecting with them in spirit. You must be gentle and calm in your speech and manners.

56. You must see the people of these lands as precious ones‚ dear to My heart. Pray against the influence of the world and of the Enemy, who would have you look upon them as inferior or backward. They are backward in some ways, but this isn't their fault, but that of the rulers who've kept them this way. Yet this simplicity is not necessarily something bad or to be scorned; for while it's kept out some good influences, it's also shielded them from some of the evils and horrors of the outside world, the widespread influence of Babylon the whore. Yet even she has gotten her foot in the door now, and is beginning to poison the minds of the youth and others with her whorish ways.

57. So I call you, My children, to be a light amongst all this darkness—the darkness of the evil spirits of the land, as well as the evil spirits of Babylon the whore. I call you to come out from among that horrible worldly spirit in your spirit and in your ways. I call you to become one with the simple people, the humble people‚ the sincere seekers of truth and light. I call you to be gentle, meek, and mild, like the dove of My Spirit, ascending and entering where you're wanted, and being wise enough to not push your way in where you're not invited.

58. This simplicity and humility is one of the surest ways to win the hearts, trust‚ and confidence of these people. If you show yourself as a servant, ready to help, give, and be of assistance, ready to comfort and strengthen and love, they will be drawn to this. But if you're loud and brash‚ rowdy and forceful, this will immediately turn them off and cause them to be closed to you and your message. (End of message from Jesus.)

Applying the Missionary Counsel

From the Africa GNs

59. (Dad speaking:) You folks who live in China and Taiwan would do well to reread and study closely the GNs about Africa! There's a whole lot of counsel in those four GNs that applies to you just as much as it does to the folks in Africa.

60. Granted, the field conditions are different, and there are specific difficulties and needs in Africa, as well as things specific to China. But one thing is very much the same: You all need to be open to shepherding and counsel, and not be too surprised that there are a few more rules and regulations when operating in these countries. That's the way it is and the way it's got to be.

61. I know most of you who are in China now are there for the right reasons and have the right attitudes. You have the Lord's love and burden in your heart for China, and you're willing to give it all you've got, no matter what the cost, because you want to be able to stick around long enough to see those folks saved. That's just the spirit and attitude you should have!

62. So you who are wholehearted and giving it your all‚ don't feel like I don't think you're doing enough or that I'm getting on your case; I'm not. But I do have to talk a little to some folks in China and Taiwan who I don't think have seen or understood just how important your field is, and thus how important you and your sample and behavior are. We also need to spell these things out for the sake of those who are considering going to China‚ but don't realize what's expected of them—because they need to count the cost.

63. Like Africa, we can't have people in China who are just there for the fun of being somewhere new, strange, or exotic‚ or who wanted to move there to get away from where they were before, or maybe because there's someone there that they like or are friends with, or whatever. Your commitment has got to be a lot deeper than that!

64. If you want the high calling of serving the Lord in China, you've got to be willing to make some sacrifices and concessions. You're going to have to be willing to give up a little of the freedom you've been used to—freedom to say what you want, to whom you want, when you want, for example. You can't go around acting like loud Americans with strange clothes and hairstyles, using language that would offend, and certainly not having arguments and contentions with others in your Home or city that are loud enough or obvious enough for your friends or neighbors to notice.

65. You simply can't make a big scene of yourselves and do things that draw more attention than you already draw just by being there and being foreigners. It's going to get you in trouble with the powers that be, for one‚ because they don't put up with that kind of stuff; secondly, it's going to be a bad sample and could damage the work that the Lord's been trying to accomplish and that countless missionaries, Family and otherwise, have started before you! Beloved, let's not tear down other men's labors or ruin the good work the Lord and our ministering spirits have done to get everything in place by our foolishness or lack of prayerfulness, amen?

66. Well, I don't think I need to go on and on about this. I just wanted to amen everything the Lord said and confirm that if you're going to be a missionary to the Chinese, you've got to be willing to make some changes in your behavior and even your mentality in order to be what the Lord and they need you to be to reach them and get the job done.

67. And as far as your spiritual state, it should almost go without saying that in order to work in such a dangerous field, you've got to be on board with the moves of the Spirit, following and obeying the Word, hearing from the Lord, and being yielded and open to counsel from your shepherds as well‚ or else this isn't the field for you. China is the place for dedicated‚ sold-out missionaries willing to do anything for the Lord and His Chinese children, not for those who want to horse around and do their own thing.

68. Since China is so sensitive, I have to warn you that if you're not acting like the kind of missionary you ought to be, if you're not following the guidelines and rules that you're asked to‚ if you're pushing the limits of independence and doing your own thing, and especially if you're in any way contravening the Charter or doing any kind of foolish or unwise things that could endanger the work, then the CRO shepherds have the right and will have to ask you to leave the field—and the same goes for Taiwan!

69. God bless all of you who've risen to the challenge and heeded the Lord's call to come to this important and very needy field. He needs you, and they need you! They need you so desperately! If you could see the rejoicing on the faces of the Heavenly spirit helpers, the wonderful precious Chinese Christians of days gone by—many of them martyrs for their cause—and the foreign missionaries who started it all, Hudson Taylor and the like, you'd realize how wonderful, how marvelous your labor of love is in the Lord's eyes.

70. This is the big chance for the people of China to see and receive the light before the darkness once again starts to enfold. It's not going to be an easy place to be in the dark days ahead, although there's still a bit of time left, during which the Lord is going to keep the doors open for us to reach it. Even once things close, the Lord will always have some of His children there to reach and teach, even in the midst of gross‚ thick darkness. Hopefully by then there will be a strong national underground church, many of whom you, my precious Family, will have helped to reach, train, strengthen, and feed. So let's go to it and do it! There's a big and beautiful harvest to reap, and we want as many sold-out and devoted reapers on the team as we can get.

71. This is the place for wholehearted, stout-hearted men and women of God, who are willing to go anywhere, any time, do anything for anybody and be nobody, to please the Lord and reach His sheep! It's the place for you who are willing to strip off the trappings of the world‚ of self and selfishness and independence and pride, and give your all to the field and to the Lord, humbling yourself to become a little one, a simple one, a gentle one, a meek follower of the Lord, and a patient and tender shepherd of His sheep. God bless you! I love you! (End of message from Dad)

72. (Mama:) Wow! Thank You, Lord, and thank you, Dad, for those very good messages. The standard put forth in those messages may seem like a pretty tall order to some of you. You might be wondering, "Do you want missionaries to go to China or don't you?" But the fact of the matter is, neither the Lord nor Dad nor Peter and I want anyone to go to China as a missionary who's not going for the right reasons, and with the commitment and determination to become one and reach and win the Chinese with love and humility. You don't have to be perfect or have years of training or feel that you "have attained" in order to measure up to the Lord's requirements. Anyone can make the commitment to change and learn and become what the Lord wants them to be, and then the rest is up to the Lord. But the commitment is up to you‚ and that is the prerequisite for being a successful missionary in China.

73. I'll list here for you some of the points that the Lord and Dad brought out in the two previous messages so that you can review them. Before you read my list, stop for a moment and try to recall the main points yourself, then read my list and see how many you remembered. These are important points‚ folks. They will make the difference between whether you're a successful missionary and bring others to the Lord, or whether you hurt and stumble the Lord's sheep and possibly endanger the work. It's a matter of life and death in this sensitive field.

•Be willing to give your life, to die daily, and even to be a martyr.

•Be willing to give up some of the freedoms that you're accustomed to.

•Go with the heart and spirit of a true missionary.

•Keep your weaknesses in check for the sake of the sheep.

•Be sober, vigilant and on guard, remembering that the Enemy is always trying to get in through any weak link or unguarded moment.

•Walk in love and unity with your brethren.

•Make sure it's your calling to be a missionary in this land.

•Seek the Lord desperately, step by step, about everything.

•Be open to shepherding and receptive to counsel and instruction of those who "know the ropes" or know the field.

•The Lord said‚ "On this field, your commitment and openness to My guidance and shepherding must be complete, total‚ and without reservation."

•Forsake worldly habits.

•Be willing to live the New Wine, and be fully committed to living the standard of the Word and the Charter.

•Respect and abide by the guidelines the Lord lays down regarding security and e-mail communications and your associations with others.

•Honor the customs of the people you live around, in order not to offend them.

•Leave behind the American and Western ways of dress, hairstyle, speech and manner in order to truly become one with the Chinese.

•Set aside your pride and personal preferences.

•Be gentle and calm, meek and mild in your behavior.

•Pray against the mindset that these precious people are backward or inferior. Pray to see them as Jesus sees them.

•Reread and study the Africa GNs [GN 824-825‚ 833-834], and apply the counsel therein.

•Be willing to give it all you've got; to stick around for as long as it takes to win and save the Chinese people.

74. Again‚ I'm sure there's no one that automatically measures up to this standard—and just because you feel that you have a lot to learn, it doesn't mean that you shouldn't go to China as a missionary. If you're desperate, yielded, and willing to change and learn and accept shepherding and instruction, that's what counts. The Lord will do all the rest. He'll put the love in your heart, He'll pour out His grace as you learn and grow, and He'll make you into what you need to be in order to reach them.

Adapting to the Field

75. Shortly after the Lord and Dad gave these messages, I received a letter from a mother of a large family en route to China. Here are some of her concerns and questions, followed by the Lord's answer, which adds to the above messages.

76. (From P.:) My family is preparing to move to China. I went on a scouting trip for one month, visiting several cities and many schools, looking into housing possibilities‚ etc. In one of the cities where the Home has a ministry with the underground church, the children seemed very challenged. In the other Homes I visited, though, it seems to me that because of the sensitivity of the country‚ the JETTs and young teens don't have much to do as far as witnessing and are a bit bored.

77. During our four years in Russia and our previous field we did puppet shows, had a catacomb ministry, won two disciples, went on road trips, won many souls, did follow-up, and distributed a lot of lit. Last year our kids were doing at least two shows per week. This kept them very inspired.

78. Since the law on religious freedom we started going underground, concentrating on making friends and witnessing slowly. It seems that the kids are less used to witnessing this way. They still sing sometimes to our friends, but since we don't meet new people as much as before, they do less. I think it was easier to keep them challenged and have less disciplinary problems when we could do more outreach.

79. I've been thinking about this since my return from China, and wanted to ask you, my queen, for an update about China. The Lord in the prophecies almost four years ago said that the crack would open‚ and I'm wondering if this is already happening or if China continues to be as closed to the Gospel as it was. [See ML #2999:22, Lifelines 22.]

80. China is a sensitive country, and we know that there are more conditions involved when moving to this field. We understand this and accept the policies. But we wish it would be a bit easier. (End of comments from mother.)

81. (Jesus speaking: ) The people of the land of China have indeed become more and more open to the things of My Spirit, and the little crack that I opened years ago has widened to where there are now many more who are hungry. Yet it is still a very dark land ruled by dark characters and dark spirits, and many of its people are in darkness. It is now also a very sensitive time for this country, in light of the world atmosphere and political situation and the recent war [in Kosovo] and events intertwined with it.

82. China is hanging in the balance on the world scene, and its people are hanging in the balance waiting to hear My truth and be delivered by My love. I would send as many of My children as would go into that land, but I would caution them that while the Chinese people are open to My Gospel, their government is closed to it and to those who preach it. While I send you to be My witnesses, you cannot necessarily burn free in witnessing as you have in some other more open fields. Your witnessing can and should still be fruitful, but it may need to go at a slower pace. You will need to exercise the gifts of patience, trust and faith, more so than the gifts of being a fiery evangelist or fast reaper.

83. Likewise, your children will have to be trained more in the areas of follow-up and undercover, discreet witnessing, rather than mostly public performances, open witnessing on the streets or in public places, etc. They can still be very challenged and fulfilled‚ and this will come about if you work closely together with them—teaching them the ropes‚ training them in new areas, hearing from Me together with them, and seeking Me for all the ways in which they can be a witness to others. There are many new witnessing methods that I can show you.

84. There will be occasional times when I will open the door for a more public witness—whether a speech, seminar‚ children's performance, etc., but at these times I will make it very clear to you what must be done and confirm that it is My will. It is not up to you to go forcing open the crack or knocking on the doors; it is up to you to patiently await that which I will bring along to you.

85. You need not fear nor cower, nor be so cautious that you lose power as My witnesses. You must be bold in your convictions, and ready to give an answer to every man that asks you‚ ready to witness in season or out of season, whenever I open the door for you to do so and lead you to someone who is hungry. Yet it is a field for the patient, the slow, the trusting, the thorough.

86. It's not for everyone, and it's not easy. But if you know it's the field for you, then no matter who you are‚ how much you know or don't know, what your experience is or isn't, or how many children you have, I can make you fruitful here. I can provide for you and lead and guide you to those who desperately need you and what you have to offer. The key is to know and discern My will by seeking Me personally—and not just once, but step by step. (End of message from Jesus)

87. (Mama:) I'm so proud of you, my precious Family who are willing to be the Lord's missionaries in whatever country He's called you to—especially you who have big families, who claim the faith to step out to the fields where the Lord is calling you, trusting Him to provide for you and your children. God bless you! Our prayers go with you, and we know that our wonderful Husband won't fail you! The concern that dear P. expressed in her letter about the children's need for challenge and fulfillment is a very real one. Thank the Lord for His promises that even though the circumstances are very different in China and you'll not be able to witness as openly, He'll provide opportunities for the children to witness and minister to others in a more underground manner, as you look to Him.

88. And you young people who step out to go to fields like China, I'm proud of you as well! It takes an extra measure of the Lord's love and grace to live in fields like China or Africa‚ which are particularly difficult, either because of physical hardships or circumstances, or because you have to be so cautious and prayerful in what you say and do.

89. I know it's not easy to have to leave behind some of the conveniences or freedoms you've been accustomed to‚ but I also know that it's worth it in order to bear the fruit the Lord wants you to bear—and it's also necessary for your own safety and well-being, and your ability to continue to live and work there!

90. Having close shepherding and being instructed in the do's and don'ts by veteran brethren or by your shepherds is difficult for some of you, especially at first, if you've been used to having more independence and doing things "your style." But I hope that those of you going to China will understand and accept the requirements that the Lord, and we as your shepherds through the Charter, have laid out for those laboring in this country.

91. I understand that strict security measures and having to counsel about many details can be very time-consuming and seem like a lot of extra work, but the Lord said that counseling‚ and most of all hearing from Him at every turn, is the only way you're going to be able to know what to do or not‚ to stay out of trouble and stay in the country and keep doing your job for the Lord there.

Humility, Wisdom, and Prayerfulness

—Your Best Protection!

92. Related to the above counsel, we asked the Lord about the group "Falun Gong" (see END 22, pg.5) and what significance the recent arrests that the government was making in cracking down on them meant for us and for our work there. The Lord shared the following insights with us:

93. (Jesus speaking: ) I search and I seek for labor leaders—those who will lead My sheep in a true and plain path. In this world, I teach you to walk the path of humility and weakness—not the path of political might, or strength in numbers. The strength of My truth is the true strength, and the truth in itself is enough of a threat to the powers of the world who are motivated by greed, selfishness, and lust for power. The truth is enough to expose them, and they fear it and hate it. But I teach you to wear your truth with all humility, and as much as possible, to stay away from those who oppose your message. The days will come for open confrontation‚ but they are not yet.

94. In this sensitive and ripe mission field, your days are numbered. But your days are not few—you have many left to share My truth and My love with the hungry. Do not allow your days to be cut short through foolishness or lack of wisdom. Do not allow the pride of life or the frustration of the control that the government tries to exercise, to pressure you into doing something unwise. Pray desperately every day for My humility, which is wisdom, and patience to submit even to the unjust government, that you might be free to continue to spread the truth—which is the real power!

95. You see these of this group who have publicly stood up and defied the government, and they have precipitated a crisis. I will use them to perform My will‚ but I would that you‚ My children, My precious few who serve Me with the truth in this land, be wise as serpents and harmless as doves, that you learn from the mistakes of these who have yielded to their pride and wanted to show their strength, and so came out in great numbers to surround the government building. They do not know Me, and so do not have the hope that I have given you, the faith and the patience.

96. You‚ My missionaries, are each so valuable to Me. Let Me direct your lives and your time and use you to the full, by keeping and preserving your ministry in the way I know best. If I call you to be a martyr for the cause, it will be because I know that will be the greatest witness and bear the greatest fruit. But don't let yourselves become martyrs through foolishness, lack of wisdom, or pride. The greater crowns go to those who lay down their lives daily for Me, being willing to do what I will. Then, to receive a martyr's reward at the end of a full life of service to Me, when I know it is your time to come‚ that is a great glory, one worth dying for.

97. I need those who will teach others how to serve Me daily, how to lay down their lives in love and wisdom. I have very few instructors, and you are they. So be wise, My children. I need you, and will protect you and watch over you, but I can only offer you My full protection when you're under the shadow of My wings in obedience and humility. (End of message from Jesus)

The Possibility of Persecution

98. (Mama: ) In the above message the Lord brought up the possibility of martyrdom. He's mentioned that several times throughout these messages we're sharing with you in this GN regarding China. Of course, the greatest honor is to live for the Lord and spread His love on a daily basis. And as Dad has taught us, dying daily to ourselves and our own ways in order to do the Lord's will is the hardest kind of martyrdom there is. But the Lord is also trying to prepare those of you who are called as missionaries to China for the possibility of persecution and even martyrdom at the hands of those who hate the Lord and His children.

99. As you'll see from the excerpts below of various news articles, Christians are being arrested daily in China. And while we're praying desperately for the Lord's protection for you, and the Lord has promised to keep you and fulfill His perfect will through you, when going to China you have to realize that serious persecution is a very real possibility. You must do your part of being desperate with the Lord for His wisdom and leading for each step, trying to stay out of trouble with the authorities; but you also have to trust the Lord and be willing to face persecution if it comes, knowing that the Lord will have His perfect way and will make you the greatest witness possible through your life and testimony‚ and in some cases, even through your death at the hands of others.

100. Those of you who are not in China should be moved to desperately pray for this aspect of the work there on a daily basis—for the Family's protection and safekeeping, as well as the protection of all the Christians there, and that the Lord will continue to keep the work as unhindered as possible from persecution. If we do our part, we know the Lord will do His, and will not allow anything that is not His perfect will. But part of the commitment in going to China is understanding that you might someday be persecuted for your faith and witness.

(Religion Today) The arrest of a Christian leader affectionately known to Chinese as "Uncle Liang" is "the hardest hit" on the house-church movement in recent years, leaders say. Liang, whose real name is Zhang Rong Liang, leads what is probably the largest house church movement in China, journalist Dan Wooding said.

Police arrested Liang and 31 Christian pastors and leaders Aug. 23 in Tanghe, a small city in Henan province. The leaders of four house church movements in Henan and surrounding provinces are also in custody and could be sentenced to work in labor camps. "You are the same as Falun Gong. You are a cult," police said as they broke up the meeting.

Falun Gong is a sect that embraces breathing exercises, meditation, and elements of Buddhism and Taoism.

China is cracking down on all groups perceived as a threat, news reports say.… Raids are increasing against Protestant house churches, the Associated Press said. Police in Henan arrested eight other leaders in another raid earlier last month. Observers say police are removing all possible distractions to celebrations surrounding the 50th anniversary of communist rule in China.

(Religion Today) Henan police have arrested more than 200 people in several raids on house churches in the past 10 months, the center said. China severely restricts churches that are not registered with the government. Most house churches refuse to register because of restrictions on evangelism and church teaching. The house church movements include millions of followers.

The Fertile Fields of China

Compared to the Fallow

Fields of the U.S.

101. (Mama:) Following is a beautiful message from Jesus in which He outlines some of the things you'll need to learn in order to relate to the Chinese, and then goes on to tell us of His very great love for His precious sheep there. He gives priceless insight into their thoughts and feelings, the way they are because of the traditions that have been passed down to them‚ and what their hearts feel and need underneath the outward appearance. He also compares the fields of America with those of China.

102. Although this GN is about China, not about the U.S., the Lord showed us to go ahead and include this message for you, because it makes it clearer why the Lord is calling as many as possible to go to more fruitful fields. The Lord gives a vivid description of how He sees America, and I pray that it motivates those of you who are not specifically called to stay there to find His will and move! To those of you who are called to stay, He gives a stirring challenge at the end of this message, speaking of the need to warn and reach those who are still reachable!

103. (Jesus speaking:) Those who look at you see the Word in you. You are the Word bound in shoe leather! They see it on your face, as people did on Moses when he descended from the mount. Therefore it's important that you stay in touch with Me, for the more of Me they see on you and in you, the more they will look to you.

104. I send you into a land where the people look closely at the outer appearance‚ whereas in America‚ the land of darkness and resistance to My Word, the people are sloppy in their outward appearance. This is a manifestation of their spiritual appearance, for they are lackadaisical and know not that the Spirit is departed from them. There are few, few indeed [in America] who have the discernment of My Spirit. Many are looking for the wrong things in life, material things, and the need to be accepted by others through the pride of man and the attachments of the flesh‚ having men's opinions in admiration and looking for those things that pertain to advancement in the flesh—new jobs, higher salaries, more social interaction based on nothing.

105. Over the years the Americans have lost their closeness to Me and the ability to discern and feel things out. Only those who have been in evil religious practices on the darker side see your anointing and feel there is something different. The rest are asleep, unless the Enemy wakes them. He's continually dulling their senses and causing them to sleep. Then he awakens them from their slumber through some action, some event‚ some cause to bring them together to follow his impulses and his reactions.

106. Through the years, the Americans and My Christian children there have been desensitized to the voice of My Word to them directly through spirit helpers, and they have been desensitized to the Word spoken even by My prophets. Now they're more in the Enemy's camp than My camp—even My Own Christian children. My Own children who know Me have been too long in the affairs of the world, coupled with the love of riches, so that My Word has been choked out. Their ears have become dull of hearing and their eyes have become closed and in need of opening. They have fulfilled the prophecy I gave to John in Revelation about the Laodicean church‚ the Endtime bride who was blind and in need of eye salve.

107. This is the bride who was not ready for My coming and did not keep her lamp trimmed and full of the oil of My Spirit and the fear and love of My Word. But it has happened unto them as of old—the sow has gone back to her wallowing and the dog returns to his vomit. And now, but for some great awakening and shaking in the land, I cannot look to these children of Mine to accomplish much in the Endtime. Some will wake, but many will be caught in the AC trap.

108. But in China and in these lands of the Orient, although My prophets have not had time to reveal the Word and to train the people to know Me in an intimate way, yet have I withheld the Enemy from going too deeply into the hearts of the masses. Many of My future prospective children there retain a respectful attitude towards life, towards their parents, towards proper public behavior‚ respect for government officials, and respect for others' feelings. Though many do not know Me, yet have I prepared the way in their hearts to receive you and to receive Me.

109. You will have a different ministry there‚ for I will manifest My love through your loving actions and words. The people will grow to trust and believe you, and then after many years, or in some cases a few months, accept Me. But they must see you first to see Me. That's how I will work there. So I say that you will be the shoe leather. You will be the Bible for them.

110. I will open new doors. I will be a beacon to you, and you will hear My Word clearly. But take heed and make a conscious effort to hear from Me fresh every day, for there will be many new lessons to be learned and many new ways of operation, behavior codes‚ and even interaction with My Family that you will need to develop. Listening to Me will be a shortcut and will help you to make faster progress.

111. You'll have to learn like a baby, step by step, and you'll sometimes fall and make a few mistakes. All that will be part of My training for you and to keep you humble and dependent on Me. I know your needs, and I want to make things as easy as possible for you. So I keep you in line too, so that you'll not get lifted up at any point, and you'll continue to give Me the glory and be dependent on Me and My Words. So continue to fear and love Me, and walk circumspectly among My Oriental and Chinese children.

112. (Mama:) I was interested in what the Lord meant when He said you would have a "different ministry." We asked Him, and He said, "The ministry of being a missionary in China is learning to accept the Chinese people for who they are, love them for who they are, and deliver My love to them in a form that they can understand and accept. A great part of your ministry will be delivering My Word to those who know Me‚ but know very little of My Word, and then learning from them how to present My Word and My love to those who do not know Me. You can't do things 'the way you've always done them.’ You must be willing to change, to learn, to adapt in your witness, and so will you bring forth much fruit for My glory." (End of message from Jesus.)

The Lord's Great Love

For the Chinese—and Precious

Insight into How to Reach Them

113. (Message from Jesus continues:) They will respect and love you as they see your respect and love for them from Me. They will see something different about you and desire it and want your friendship. They want your friendship because they want My friendship. They want to be understood. They've been in darkness many years‚ shielded from the truths of My love and Word. They're desperate inside, yet they hide it‚ as a discipline handed down to them from their fathers and their teachers over the centuries and millennia. Their traditions have been deeply embedded.

114. But My love reaches down to the lower depths of the heart. I am the miner who goes into the deep caverns and chips carefully away at the rock for the expensive and precious jewels. It takes much time and many years of love to probe and find these jewels; yet I know they're there, so I never give up on My Chinese children. I love them to the death. I die daily for them and reach out My hand to them. I've forgiven many of their sins because I long to show them My great mercy—My mercy which is unfathomable by the eye of man.

115. My love is incomparable to the love of man. Man's love has limitations, but I go more than all the way. I go past death and into the very fibers of their being. I see them from all angles. I see how they will react after death! That's why I answered so many of your father's prayers for the Chinese, such as in the cemetery and in other Letters. [See ML #1261, 1264, 1599, 1836, etc.] I see into the future. I see what a man or woman will be, and not only what they are!

116. My Chinese children have been trained to hide their true feelings. They've been quenched and squelched and shielded from the true passions of their hearts in many circumstances. Yet they have learned through these breakings to respect one another and care for one another in ways that My Western children and their national counterparts have not. In many ways‚ these are very important principles which I Myself have been trying to teach My Family children through the Law of Love.

117. So never be discouraged at what you perceive as slowness in the way that My Word and your words enter into the hearts of My Chinese children‚ because they do have an effect and they go very far. Much seed will spring forth in their hearts. Yet they need time to experience My love and fashion it according to the needs of their personal survival and interaction with others. You will learn these things in time. For this very reason My Spirit reaches out very far. My mercy goes extremely far. Your patience will be tried, but My patience never runs out!

118. So again I say that it is very necessary to stay close to Me and submitted to My love, that you may have the patience and love, not of yourself, but of Me‚ to teach and train and help strengthen My Chinese children. It's a great commission to go to China. I've called a few to give their lives, as that's what it will cost to show My love in many cases. I've called My missionaries there to many long hours of labor and love. But none of it will be wasted. None of your love—not one smile or embrace or word of encouragement—will be wasted.

119. Nothing is forgotten or overlooked by My children in China. They watch your every move, study your words, and watch your reactions. When you do an unselfish act, it is noticed. Truly this is a land where a man shall labor and see the fruit of his labors! But even knowing this, you must give without asking. You must teach and love and minister and correct and lovingly gather in the sheep, not knowing how they will react. You must give and give in joy and expect nothing back.

120. Yet I promise you that your labor will not be in vain‚ and a great many will attend to and take heed to the Words and produce great fruit themselves. So fear not to launch out and try and test My Words, for they will come to pass. Many will come to Me, flocking to hear the Word in the End of times and in the new world to come. The powers of darkness will be broken and the light will spring forth.

121. (Mama:) What beautiful promises! The Lord is saying that such tremendous things will happen, all because of your faithfulness to give out the message.

America—A Living Example

Of the Terrible Results of

Rejecting the Truth!

122. (Message from Jesus continues:) In America the Words have not produced much fruit in recent times, because the ground they fall on is not fertile. Every heart from the youngest to the oldest has been saturated daily with a bombardment of civil and social indoctrination—from crazy tales created by Dr. Seuss to even crazier tales such as those shown on TV in The SimpsonsBeavis and Butthead and South Park‚ where depravity runs wild.

123. All America is feasting at the table of Satan. There are few, few indeed who have not been corrupted. My Family children who remain there need to fight all the harder just to retain their spiritual lives. America indeed has already fallen, and she is reeling from many blows. People's hearts are waxed gross. The Christians are deceived into thinking they can save that which I have not ordained.

124. What your father has written is written, and so shall it be done. It has already been fully revealed over and over in the events of the End in America—the Crash, the chaos and anarchy, the waves and bands of marauders, the evil doctors drinking blood, the mass indifference in "The Hamburger Boat" from the hamburger gobblers, the insane education system, the perverse sexual laws and tolerance of those forms of sexual behavior which are not of Me but are abominations, the continual murder of babies and of other innocents, the prevailing and increasing witchcraft, the corrupt laws, the corrupt courts, the murdering of Christians even in mass display in front of the whole country, not to mention continual drunkenness, drug abuse, and the horrors of children rising up against their own parents as I predicted in My Word.

125. Surely I have spoken to this people in judgments, in great winds and movements of the earth, and in the destruction of their idols‚ their buildings, by terrorists. As your father predicted, you can only expect more and more confusion—more youth violence‚ and even organized factions arming themselves; more hatred and racism, all being provoked and encouraged by the ACs; more and more than ever before, perversions and festivals and rejoicing over the violent past and the stars and stripes, which things I hate.

126. I am allowing great confusion right now. I have allowed the ACs to take away the peace, and now bring old enemies back to America. I have allowed the Russians and the Chinese to infiltrate and to flex their muscles to put fear into the hearts of the American politicians and people who thought they were sitting at ease in Zion. They thought they had arrived. They thought Russia was paralyzed. They thought they were so much better than the Chinese.

127. Therefore know that the time is short, My dear Family in America. Find your place and find it quickly! Put off the foolishness and rejoicings and entertainments of the flesh. Please, seek and seek and seek again, and don't be content until you've found that place of perfect peace that you are in My will. If I have called you there to America, then stay and fight. Witness and win, and witness and win. Be prepared to fight‚ and to help as many as will come to Me and to you in the Great Confusion. For the time, I say again, is very near.

128. Remember what I said in My Word‚ that when they say "peace and safety," then sudden destruction shall come upon them as a thief in the night! Don't allow yourselves to be drawn into a false sense of security. Cry unto Me‚ and I will do great and mighty things for you. I love you with an everlasting love, and I will never leave you nor forsake you.

129. But now is the time to move. Be prepared. She has not got long to stand. Things are in motion and they will never be the same again. Forget the past.

130. Now is the day to put your armor back on! Now is the time to fight constantly and consistently. Raise funds for the field you will be going to, or raise funds to help others go, and prepare yourselves. Now is the time to put away the foolishness and laughter and put on a sober face, and turn your face as a flint against America.

131. I have raised some of you up as prophets to the very End to proclaim My Words to this last generation. Warn the young especially, for they have not had much opportunity. Save as many as you can, whether it be in their universities or other places where they gather for fun and fellowship. Pray with them! Warn them! I will pour out My Spirit upon you.

132. The rest of you need to find your place on the field I have chosen for you. Launch out by faith and raise funds and support now! Make this your priority! I will be with you and anoint you and pour a full anointing of peace and security upon you as you obey My will.

133. You will be as those fighting giants. There will be opposition, but much of it will be fear. Stay close to Me and in tune, and I will lead you into green pastures—pastures that are green with money for your trip to the field, and pastures where you will find those who will help you, and to whom you can minister as they help you.

134. I will give you great peace as a reward for following Me and tending to these things which are expedient—the saving of your flocks for the others in the needy field so white! Be sober. Be vigilant. For the times of preparation are drawing to a close. Be wise and use this time to gather in the things you need to gather, and to learn lessons of faith and provision, for the time draws near. (End of message from Jesus.)

Broaching Sensitive Subjects in

Your Witness?—Ask the Lord!

135. (Mama: ) The Lord gave this next message in response to a question that one of our precious, faithful missionary couples in China sent in, asking how they should best respond to the issue of abortions in China. The Lord gave a beautiful answer, which not only is good counsel on how to wisely handle this one topic, but is another good example of how the Lord loves to give us specific counsel about any subject we take the time to ask Him about. Learning to go to the Lord for answers on how to conduct yourselves as missionaries—especially in a sensitive country such as China—is a must‚ and will save your ministry, if not your life! Plus‚ when you do, He is able to give you greater insight and understanding, and not only keep you safe and in His will but also greatly enhance your usefulness and witness.

136. (Jesus speaking: ) How My heart breaks for the many millions of My children in China who never see life on Earth‚ whose lives are cut short by the policies of the Evil One. Yet I have a special place in My Heavenly Kingdom where they are taken and well cared for, and when their parents join Me Here, they can be reunited with the one that they loved and wanted. For many of the Chinese people desired to have these children, but could not. They were taken away from them by force, by those who understand not the ways of My love—those who are led only by their carnal understanding in trying to keep the population down so that there's enough food to go around.

137. Some of these officials' motives are pure, in that they think that it's better to abort the baby than to have it die of malnutrition. But this is because they know Me not. They have not been told of My love and the value of each child, and that I will care for My Own. They know not that even if the child were to die at a young age, I have given him as a gift to the parents to care for during that time.

138. As for the parents who have had abortions, most of them against their will, I don't wish to condemn them. The way that My children, M. and C., have handled this subject is wise. They have been led of My Spirit, and have not flouted this subject [abortion] openly. Yet when asked‚ they should state with conviction that they believe that it is wrong, and that human life is a precious gift of God which no man has the right to take away save God Himself. They can also explain to those parents who are Christians, that when they come to their Heavenly reward‚ part of their reward will be to be reunited with the child or children aborted or taken from them in some way. They will experience such joy in finding that which was lost.

139. Be wise as serpents. Seek not to incur the wrath of the authorities by openly preaching against them and their policies, but speak the truth to those who are searching and desire to know. The seeds of truth that you plant will go far, and for those who diligently seek Me for a way to keep their child, I will make a way, even as I did for Jochebed, who besought Me for her son, Moses‚ who was to be taken away and his life aborted. I will protect and prosper My children, and care for them. (End of message from Jesus.)

How the Lord Sees You‚

His Faithful Missionaries!

140. (Mama:) I'd now like to share with you some encouragement which the Lord has given for some of our dear missionary families in China. These messages were given for specific people, but when we asked the Lord about publishing them, He said that they applied very much to all of you who have also chosen to give your lives for His children there in China. There are big sacrifices to be made; you have to adapt to very different customs and cultures; you have to be very cautious, slow, and wise in your witness and approach, and many other things. But the Lord is very proud of you! He sees those sacrifices of love that you make in order to reach His Chinese children‚ and He promises to more than repay! You have no idea how far your love, sample and witness have gone!

141. (Jesus speaking:) My dear loves, you cannot see the ripple effect from where you are, but I see it, and your witness reaches far and wide! Of course, the Enemy would try to condemn and discourage you, because he doesn't want the witness going out; he doesn't want the lost coming to My strong arms of love and comfort; he doesn't want his prey reclaimed for Me. But I do! And so I send you legions of helpers to help you reach China for Me! You are surrounded, My loves! You are hedged about on every side, because you are in My will and you are seeking to please Me. So don't worry for your safety, don't worry for your supply—I am your supply line‚ and I will keep you stocked and protected against the day of trouble.

142. Step out by faith! Feel My strong walls of protection around you, and try your wings! Continue to seek Me and love Me and put Me first, and I will send you the sheep and the hungry souls to minister to. But don't be afraid to give them My love when I send them across your path. Reach out to them. Seek Me for how you can give each one My love and My witness, and then trust Me for the consequences. As long as you go in My love and in My wisdom, I will never fail you‚ but will cause you to prosper.

143. So keep your eyes on Me. The Enemy surrounds you with many waves, trying to distract you from My face. But keep your eyes on Me, and I will continue to give you victory! Look not at the waves—the waves of the threat of persecution, the waves of discouragement or condemnation, the waves of personal battles‚ the waves of feeling useless. Keep your eyes on Me, for I will bring you safely through—you and many with you, the fruit of your labors of love! (End of message from Jesus.)

144. (Great Grandmother speaking: ) Hello, dear ones! You've heard of me through the MO Letters. This is Great Grandmother. You've heard of my ministry to the Chinese. I asked the Lord if I could give you a personal little message, and He's so sweet and has allowed me this opportunity to speak with you.

145. Thank you, thank you‚ thank you for loving the Lord's children in China. God bless you—and He will! You know, on one hand, these people are very simple and childlike, and your happiness and beautiful, clear faces and spirits will woo and win them immediately. They will know that with your presence there is goodness among them. Yet on the other hand, to truly win their friendship and hearts‚ it takes time, for their clever, intelligent wits and minds sometimes hinder them from believing and accepting you fully as their friends. So don't worry if they sometimes seem to change their moods or minds on you. Just be patient and be steady in your affections and friendship towards them, and this will help win them over.

146. Especially now, there is so much emphasis on Western materialism and greed. Some people have fixed ideas on white people coming from America. Bear this in mind and be patient with them. Soon they'll know you're not the ugly Americans that they have heard of, but that you're different—that you're Jesus' children, that you're good Christians, that you're there sincerely to help, and that you want nothing.

147. Your beautiful children will be such a testimony to the other children, but also to the parents. Seeing your children, they will see your good fruits‚ and will know that you, therefore, are good people.

148. Know that there are many helpers in the spirit who will be with you—whispering in your ear, giving you counsel, and encouraging you on. Also to help keep you safe.

149. I love you and I'm so proud of you! I'm proud of all of David's children who have ministered to this very different race of people who are so needy, thirsty, hungry, and impoverished for the Spirit of God. So thank you for catching the Lord's vision and working so hard to get there. I love you. I'll be talking with you again. Remember‚ if you ever need help, just call out and I'll be there! Or one of us will be there. And Jesus is always there with you. I love you! (End of message from Great Grandmother.)

150. (Mama: ) This next message should be encouraging to any of you who are wondering if your labors are really paying off in China or not. The work is slow, but as the Lord says in the following message‚ the harvest is guaranteed! God bless you for your faith and patience to be His faithful farmers!

151. (Jesus speaking: ) My faithful farmers whom I love, have no fear, for the harvest is coming! This is the patience of the farmer—to trust Me through the many seasons and know that although he sees very little with his eyes, without a doubt the summer will come, and will bring with it the time of harvest and great fruit!

152. He has seen the times of harvest in past years‚ and although this is a new field‚ the crop is different, the seasons are slightly varied, and the climate takes adjusting to, yet there is the promise of a great harvest. So he has the patience and the faith to continue laboring throughout the winter and the spring, knowing that the summer is coming and will bring with it the promised fruit!

153. You, My precious farmers, are ordained to bring forth lasting fruit which will not fade with the season, or be consumed in one year, but will live on‚ and only grow and increase with time! So think it not strange that there's a time of testing, a time of waiting, a time of planting seed before you reap the harvest. The harvest will surely come, and will bring with it great and wonderful fruit—fruit that remains!

154. You've been faithful and obedient in answering My call to a more fruitful farm, and now is the time of planting, watering, weeding, and pruning, before the great harvest comes. All seasons are necessary for the growth and maturation of the fruit, and it will come with time. It will come‚ I say.

155. So be not weary, forlorn, or discouraged, for it is but another season, one of the necessary seasons for the growth and strengthening of not only the fruit, but also the farmers. I have given you My promise that the season of great fruit will come, and all that comes before it is necessary preparation. I love you, and will greatly reward your labors and your patience, My faithful farmers. (End of message from Jesus)

156. (Jesus speaking:) You will be My hands reaching out to give a helping hand. You will be My eyes to see where the need is for you to go, and to be, and to minister. You will be My eyes to weep for those who are weary and sad and in need of great help. You will be My feet to walk in places that others have not gone, to walk the extra mile to reach people with My message of love‚ hope, salvation, and forgiveness. You will be My feet to tread down the Serpent's ugly head of lies and anti-God venom! You will be My shoulders for the weak to lean on and be comforted. You will be My shoulders to help shoulder people's burdens. You will be My body of love to My precious children in China.

157. As you are My body, My flesh, so will I provide for you; so will I keep you and strengthen you as My Own‚ for you are My Own. You are My precious Bride—beautiful, radiant, vibrant and full of life‚ very giving and yielded to Me.

158. Your sample of love and dedication to go into a field that seems to many to not be hungry or worthy of My love will speak loudly, and will wake many people up to the needs there. This will in turn raise support for you. I will supply your every need. I will raise up funds, needs, housing, and the production of tools for your field in wonderful ways that will cause you to shout for joy!

159. You will also be a sample to many there of the simplicity of My love, especially now in these days when there is a wave of Western music, Western culture, Western politics‚ and Western falsehoods flooding into these lands. Your sample of love and dedication to Me, of simplicity‚ of love, and of helping others, will be a bright beaming sample to these.

160. There will be tests along the way, for the Enemy will fight your work in your field. But fret not and worry not‚ for when the Enemy comes in like a flood—as he will, be forewarned—remember that I will raise up a standard so high that I will keep you safe in every way. You will have stories of miracles to share that will inspire your brethren. So forget not to communicate, and with your sacrifices I will be well pleased, as will your king and queen. Your stories will inspire faith in many.

161. You will be looked up to by many parents there who love their children too, but lack in education and spiritual training in how to care for them. You will be a help to many, and thereby many will help you too.

162. I send you forth, My precious little family, as conquerors over darkness—to conquer fear and torment of minds and spirits with the white-hot blazing sword of My Spirit that will set the captives free and break the chains of worry, of oppression, and of tradition, and turn many bound children free to become dancing, happy, carefree, thankful children for Me!

163. Thank you for going forth by faith! For this stepping out by faith, I will bless you even more, for I love it when My children have faith in Me to do the impossible. That thrills Me, and it excites Me and challenges Me! Oh, how I love challenges in the spirit! I love you, My challengers—My family of challenge, My family of faith. You're so precious to Me! I love you‚ and will make you fruitful in every good work. (End of message from Jesus.)

Do What You Can, and I'll Use It

To Bring Many to Me!

164. (Jesus speaking:) The children of China have a special place in My heart. They are tender; they are seeking; they are so vulnerable; they are so ready. Because they've not had much teaching, they've also not seen a bad example. They've not seen a lot of hypocrisy, but they've seen many Christians who died for their faith. They've seen many Christians who were martyred because they chose to come and give their lives for My children in China. There are many great martyrs of the faith who have given their lives for China and died there.

165. Therefore My children in China and My yet-unborn children in China, sheep who have not yet been born into My Kingdom, hold a high regard and much admiration for My missionaries and My prophets who come to the Chinese people. For they know it is at great cost, and they see the cost and they see the sacrifice. Therefore they have great respect for My missionaries and My prophets and My children who come to tell them about Me.

166. Because they have not seen the bad example of the self-satisfied, hypocritical traditionalists, the social Christians, those who are Christians in name only‚ they are in a more receptive frame of mind toward My Word. And they also must pay a cost for believing, therefore they are more sincere and heartfelt in their faith. They must buck the tide; they must count the cost of ostracism by their own family‚ by their units, parents by their children, children by their parents‚ husbands by their wives, wives by their husbands. But all this they are willing to do because they love Me and they need Me, and they want My love in their lives.

167. They've felt My love reaching out to them. They feel their need for the great spiritual emptiness that they have to be filled. Therefore they crave and hunger for Me, and they reach out to Me in their spirits. Those of My children who go there are very brave‚ and they have need of wisdom, understanding and discernment to know who to talk to. Therefore I would that they pray very much, so that I can lead them to the receptive ones‚ and also so that I can soften the hearts of those that are along their way.

Your Call to Pray!

168. (Mama: ) In this next part of the message, the Lord lists different needs that our missionaries there have, which He's asking you to pray for. Please do‚ dear Family. Please don't fail the Lord's lost sheep there by failing to pray for the missionaries who are there! That's something you can do no matter where you are, no matter how much personnel or finances you have or don't have, and no matter how busy your Home is or how many other things you're trying to take care of—you can pray fervently, and through your prayers you can accomplish great things! The Lord is asking us to pray—to make it a priority to uphold our dear Family in China through our prayers. Let's do it! Amen?

169. (Message from Jesus continues:) My missionaries to China have need of prayer for their places of work, for each path that they tread during the day. For there are many traps and pitfalls; yet there are many‚ many receptive ones who wait for them and who need them. Pray for those they come in contact with, that they will be receptive to the message, and that My missionaries will have wisdom in their witness.

170. The needs concerning their dwelling places are many. They need affordable housing, with a good landlord in a good place, with neighbors who will not be antagonistic or watching to catch them in witnessing to others, in an area where there is more freedom for them to minister to the needy sheep I bring their way.

171. Pray for the key to the hearts of the lost there. Pray that they'll be able to begin teaching others to teach others, that I will open doors for them to teach many My Word, so that each one who they teach can teach another‚ and so will their efforts be multiplied. Pray that they will find favor in the eyes of the local authorities. Pray for their children, that they'll be challenged and fulfilled‚ and that the appeal of the world will not hold them. Pray for opportunities for their children and young ones to witness.

172. Pray for opportunities for My materials and the witness to be broadcast on television, radio, and through other means of mass communication. Pray for the supply of their needs‚ their home support. Pray for the security of their communications. Pray that they are able to have fellowship with other brethren‚ and pray for their encouragement.

173. I would that you would pray for China and do all you can to help them. And do not neglect the other mission fields, the harvest fields, the pioneer fields. Encourage My Family to pour their prayer and time and efforts into them. I will lead and guide and bless, and I will not leave them comfortless, but I will help them with all their needs, and I will be with them whithersoever they go, even to the end of the world.

174. Great times are coming, when I will pour out My Spirit in a mighty way. I'm working on many, many fronts, and I would that you would pray for all of these as I lay them on your hearts. Many of you can be missionaries through your prayers and through your giving and through your support, for prayer can move the hand of God. By your giving you can send many who are called to these lands. Therefore‚ don't hesitate to pray when you're burdened‚ and don't hesitate to give when you're able, for this is My will and My plan.

175. You are blessed above many who are sincere Christians, in that you know what the move of My Spirit is. You know how to pray; you know how to give; you know that your giving will bear fruit. You know that when you give to these moves of My Spirit in these countries, you'll be giving to something that's worthwhile. Therefore, hesitate not to pray and pray and pray again; and hesitate not to give and give and give again, for you are reaping a great result from your prayers and your giving!

176. This is not time thrown away in prayer, or money thrown away in giving, but they will bring a great harvest and a great result! Many souls will be won to Me because of your prayers and because of your giving. Draw in your friends and your contacts by showing them how they can help in these foreign fields, for these are exotic fields and needy fields that they can feel a burden for. Help them to know how to give, and this will draw them closer to Me. Don't hesitate to ask for their giving‚ and I will bless you and I will bless them, and I will bless the works in these lands. (End of message from Jesus.)

177. (Jesus speaking:) Do you know the power of prayer? Do you know that it's the most effective weapon in the universe? Do you see the miracles which are performed in answer to your prayers? Many times you see only a fraction of what I do to move situations and circumstances on your behalf. Many times you consider it "just the way things turned out" rather than the answer to your prayers. There's not one prayer that you pray that goes unanswered. There's not one thought that you send Heavenward on behalf of someone that is not immediately turned into spiritual power and employed on their behalf.

178. You must realize the effects of your prayers, and you must pray for My children in China. You must pray now, for now is the time when My Word needs to go out. If it can only go out, if it can only reach those that it's intended to reach, they will take it from there. It will become an unstoppable wave of truth that will wash over the country and bring many dying souls back to life again. But you must get the truth out now—and for those of you who are not there, that means getting it out through your prayers.

179. Channel your prayers, remind each other, make it a priority! As you're moved to pray, My hand of strength and power is loosed to work on their behalf. So pray! (End of message from Jesus.)

180. (Mama: ) Lord help us to do our part, to not sin by ceasing to pray for our dear missionaries in China! And those of you who are there, or who are preparing to go, God bless and keep you! We'll support you all we can, and will be by your side in prayer. You're going to fulfill a great need, and will be instrumental in reaching millions through teaching others to teach others to teach others!

181. And if you can't go, then please pray! Prayer works! It's a powerful tool in helping our Family in China to reach the multitudes there. The churches have also recognized what far-reaching results prayer can have when combined with their witnessing, as you can see by the following article.

Operation Prayer

Jane Lampman

The Christian Science Monitor

The millennium has galvanized evangelical Christians. They're focused not on the end of the world, but on what they see as the possibility‚ for the first time in history‚ of fulfilling Christ Jesus' great commission: "Go ye into all the world and make disciples of all nations" and "preach the Gospel to every creature."

While globe-shrinking technology has paved the way, another development most fuels their hopes of evangelizing the world: A global prayer movement has gathered such momentum over the past decade that they feel God is moving people toward a new awakening.

This prayer movement has grown "so significantly that I would consider it to be probably the single most significant change in Christianity in the last two decades‚" says Glenn Sheppard, a Baptist pastor long involved in evangelism who now heads International Prayer Ministries, which gives prayer seminars worldwide.

The movement encompasses grassroots initiatives in many nations (in the United States, a goal of 3 million Lighthouses in communities‚ where Christians pray for their neighbors); a global strategy in which millions join in targeted prayer for specific cities and peoples; and a new World Prayer Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., using the Internet to link intercessors with prayer requests and alert them to world situations calling for prayer.

When you look back in history before awakenings, you can find the roots in united prayer, says Jonathan Graf, editor of Pray! magazine, which was launched two years ago in response to the burgeoning movement. "Jonathan Edwards, one of the instruments in the first Great Awakening [in the US], for years before it broke out brought together churches for 'concerts of prayer.'"

Sheppard sees the results of prayer in Nepal, where his ministry planted a prayer movement back in 1990. Today, "the Nepali leaders are in contact with 3,000 to 5,000 people every other month sharing prayer requests and victories," and the Christian population "has grown from about 25,000 to between 400,000 and 500,000 today."

Evelyn Christenson, head of United Prayer Ministry in St. Paul, Minn.—who wrote the bestseller What Happens When Women Pray and a study guide for evangelism praying—says healings are going on, too. She tells of a Muslim doctor who was to have an operation to remove her stomach. "She saw Jesus at the foot of her bed and was healed. She took Him as her Savior. Now she tells her patients about Jesus."

182. (Mama:) Are you willing to help reach China? I know He'll bless and greatly reward those of you who heed His call in your heart to reach this land—whether through going there as a committed and dedicated missionary‚ or through your fervent and unceasing prayers! He'll bless and keep and protect you, and will do miracles on your behalf, as you give your all for Him and His precious Chinese children.

183. I'll close here with two more very interesting and beautiful messages from departed Chinese spirits, who have come to tell their story and make their plea. It's time to reach China‚ and the Lord is giving us a lot of counsel and help from the spirit world. It's a dangerous and difficult field, but it's ripe and ready. Now is China's hour, and the Lord has promised all the help you need from the spirit world. The best part is that that help is available to all those of you who are there, at any time of the day or night, whenever you need it, through the gift of His voice of prophecy—personalized counsel and direction. Take advantage of it‚ use it, and be fruitful for Jesus through it! We're with you in the spirit through our prayers! I love you!

Love always, Mama

Message From a

Departed Chinese Christian

184. (Chinese Christian speaking:) I am marching forward. I'm marching forward for my people, and I will not let up. Though there are many dark forces fighting against us, I am marching forward to deliver my people. I have given my life for them once, and would gladly give it again and again. I give it each day in battle for them in the spirit, in my intercession for them, in my intercession for you to reach them.

185. My people are a great and a wonderful and a beautiful people, with delicate hearts—hearts that reach out to the beauty that the Lord has for them, hearts that care and desire great beauty. This is a people that I care for and that I love. This is a people that I want to pour my blood forth for to bring them the great love of their God.

186. They've been fought for many‚ many centuries by the wicked and evil devices of the Devil's own religion. Their desire for beauty and simplicity has often been thwarted, as the Devil has promoted his way and his cruelty and his powers, which have run rampant throughout this great nation.

187. When I was upon the Earth, I learned about Jesus through a simple missionary in our country. It was a great relief, as well as an awakening for me. For many years I had searched for beauty in my life. As a young girl I had been taught obedience and submission, and with these things I was satisfied and happy. But there was still a great desire in my heart to understand and to know the beauty that I was longing for.

188. Then this dear missionary couple reached out to me in our little village. They reached out and showed love to us—to my family and to my friends. What I saw in their eyes was the beauty that I was longing for. They came and gave to me of their abundance; they gave in many little ways and big ways.

189. This giving of theirs was so unnatural. I understood the ways of families giving and caring for each other. But someone coming in, a total stranger, and giving to me‚ giving to my family, giving to my friends‚ giving to our community, giving when they weren't thanked, giving when they were turned away, this was so puzzling. I had never seen such giving before, and this I wanted. I reached out timidly‚ with great caution. But they responded eagerly to my reaching out, and they sheltered me with their love. They understood why I was timid, and they were gentle with me.

190. They invited me to come and sing songs with them. My family didn't understand‚ for they felt I was turning away from them. They were jealous that I was turning to a new family, and it was difficult for them. Therefore when I reached out towards these missionaries, I reached out timidly, because I didn't want to offend my family. My family nodded in agreement when I went to sing songs with them, but they were hurt. However, they let me go, and I regularly visited the stronghold of these missionaries—the stronghold of faith‚ the stronghold of beauty‚ the stronghold of peace, the stronghold of caring. Oh, there was such caring there. They would always invite me in and throw their arms round about me and care for me with such diligence.

191. I grew in their arms of love. I was 12 or 13 at the time that I met them, and these beautiful ways of love molded my heart as I learned about the Lord, as I learned about the real God, as I learned about love‚ as I learned about caring and giving and sharing. These were beautiful, beautiful days.

192. My family never came along with me. They stayed behind and worried about what was happening to their daughter. But I'm thankful that they never stopped me. They worried, and they frowned when I would walk away to go visit my friends. When I would go to the stronghold of faith, my family would sit in their dark house frowning, and they would frown when I returned. But they never took action, they never strove against me physically, and for this I was very grateful. Being a young girl‚ if my family had reacted against me, it would have been very difficult. I'm very grateful for how they allowed me to be friends with these missionaries, and to be strengthened in their stronghold of faith.

193. Many years later my father told me that he was happy that they didn't fight against my newfound joy. For though it puzzled him greatly, and caused him and my mother and my grandparents concern, he could see that my life had developed beautifully, and he was thankful that they had made the right decision to allow me the opportunity to visit these missionaries and to not stand in my way. He explained why it was so difficult, how it was so contrary to the many things he had been taught, how to let me go was for him turning against the things he knew or had always understood to be right. For I was not only meeting with others, but I was meeting with foreigners. And I was not only meeting with foreigners, but to my family it seemed I was meeting with a foreign god, and this was very difficult to understand.

194. He explained that as he saw the joy in my life grow and continue to blossom, he and my mother also began to believe in a far-off manner. This was quite a surprise to me‚ because they'd never shown any desire to know about Jesus, and had never questioned me about my faith. They always pretended like it wasn't there. This was their way of dealing with this. They'd pretend that I was just like they were‚ and would go on as usual. It was a surprise to me to find that in the privacy of their little room, in the quietness of the night, they had discussed the joy that they saw growing in my heart and in my eyes, and they had received this.

195. Today, my parents are with me in this wonderful Kingdom of Heaven. That little reaching out of faith, that little acceptance of understanding that a great joy had taken over their daughter, was honored by the Lord. He didn't hold it against my parents for being bound by traditions and the religions that they'd been brought up with. He cared for them. The Master saw their hearts were yielded in as large a capacity as they were capable of. So when their time came to pass through the door, He closed the door that would cause them to follow the way of their ancestors, and He showed them the other door.

196. He allowed me to introduce them to Heaven. It was a beautiful sight. They were so timid and so humble as they entered hand in hand. Yes, my parents came together. They were old and stricken with age at a time when a fire broke out and took them together. And there they were, with their heads bowed, but peeking up humbly, looking at the beautiful light and love that the Lord was presenting them with. They saw me, their daughter, standing Here in this beautiful place. They moved forward‚ and I told them it was Jesus, that He wanted to give them this wonderful life‚ that He loved them greatly. I told them that He had allowed me to prepare a home for them, one that they would be very happy in. They asked to see this home, because they still could not understand, and I was given permission to show them their home.

197. It was at this point, when they saw the home that Jesus had for them, when they saw that He cared about them, when they saw the home was built as they would want it built‚ in simple, humble fashion‚ when they saw that it was not a foreigner's home, but a home very similar to what they had always lived in, yet with a greater touch of beauty and light‚ when they saw this was truly a Chinese home, they then said yes to Jesus.

198. They then allowed the door to be closed on all of their doubts, their fears that they would be stripped of their dignity, of their Chinese ways, of their culture. When they saw that the Lord compassionately cared for them by allowing their culture to be intact, they moved on from the darkness of the past to the light and the bright and glorious future that the Lord had for them. Now my two humble parents live in the wonderful halls of Heaven. And in the years since, many of my brothers have joined us as well, and one of my sisters.

199. We have a beautiful community Here of loving and caring amongst each other. I have spent many‚ many years now greeting and helping my dear people to enter into the halls of Heaven. I've spent many years helping them to cast off the shadows of the past and to come into the full joy that Jesus has for them. I understand their plight. I understand how it was difficult for them to turn from their traditional ways and to accept this great beauty. I also understand that great desire in their heart for the beauty that the Lord has for them. And this is my greatest desire, to continue to open the door, to let them peek in and have a glimpse of the glories that Jesus has for each of them.

200. I have not only greeted my parents, but I have been given the wonderful permission to greet many and to offer them this chance. This was the reward that the Lord granted me. He asked me when I arrived what great reward I would like to have. He laid before me many challenges. I told Him I wanted to help my people to know Him. I told Him I wanted to help those who love Him amongst my people to stand strong, and I wanted to help usher in those who had reached out towards Him—to usher them in to the halls of Heaven‚ to help them know that He is a Chinese God as well as a foreign God. With this the Lord was very pleased, and I was immediately granted my wish. And this has been a ministry that I have undertaken for many, many years now with great joy.

201. I died young‚ because as I followed after the ways of these missionaries, there were many times it was difficult to follow my faith. The missionaries had to leave when I was about 20 or 21, and there were only a few of us who had followed them closely. One of these became my husband. With this I was well pleased‚ for it would have been difficult to stand alone in a marriage with a husband who didn't understand the ways of the Lord. My parents had seen fit to marry me to this man of a neighboring family. And the Lord had seen fit to prepare his heart in the same way He had prepared mine. For this I was ever so grateful.

202. We continued on in our love for the Lord after the missionaries left. We continued to draw others together, to call others in to worship the Lord together‚ to study the Bible, the text that we had. And through this we grew in strength, and through this we grew in joy, and through this we were labeled. We were labeled as followers of the foreigners, followers of other ways, and traitors to our own people.

203. The fear among our people toward us grew. The stronger their fear became, the stronger our lights shone, as we grew closer to each other and to the Lord, and He continued to grow us and draw us closer to Him step by step. He cared for us! He cared for us wonderfully. But the fears around us continued to grow. There were those in our community who feared that having Christians amongst them would cause the government to withdraw its support from our community in times of problems. They feared that we would be cut off from the protection of our army; therefore the community began to cut us off. First verbally. Many of those who had watched us eagerly and who had wanted to follow the Lord at least from afar off, turned from us. It was a hard time for me and my husband and our two small children, for we were considered followers of the foreigners.

204. When sickness took our children, we were crushed, and our spirits began to fail within us. And though we reached out to those around us, telling them that we were just people like they were, that we loved our Chinese ancestry, that we loved the heritage that we had, but that we also loved the Lord Jesus‚ this did not cause them to open their arms; it caused them to cut us off more. One night they threw stones at our windows. They killed our pet. They poured blood of animals round about our house. This was not the whole community, but those who were not involved did not stand up for us. And our families stayed shyly away.

205. It was a difficult time‚ a very lonely time. There were times when we wanted to give up on our newfound faith. We also wanted to be able to run to our families for shelter. But we could not bring this torment upon them as well. So we tried to bear the burdens ourselves, and we became weary and tired. The Lord had mercy. He saw our predicament, how we were cut off and alone, and He did not abandon us. He sent along a sickness which took my husband and I, and we were delivered from that torment.

206. It was at this time before my death that my father visited, when he told me how he and my mother had admired the joy that they saw in our eyes. It was with great relief that I left my father behind, knowing that though physically they had not cared for us‚ they had not cut us off in their hearts. And my husband and I continued across the threshold and joined our two children, our two little girls, and the pain was over.

207. Now we've been very busy helping the Lord's love be spread in the hearts of our people, for they are a people with great, great need. They are a people living under a black cloud, but many hearts desire to find the beauty of life. There are many, many hearts questioning and crying out to find the beauty that their hearts desire.

208. I say to those of you who reach out to my people, be not weary in well doing. Don't look at the small fruit within your hand. Take heart from my story, seeing how my conversion brought with me a whole household, even though on Earth it did not appear so. Take heart from this testimony and believe that each time that you reach another and you draw that one in to great fellowship with the Lord, that though their family does not respond wholeheartedly, you are still reaching many others. You are reaching many through the heart of this one, even though it's not visible to you, or even to them.

209. There are many who will followsome closely, some in the distance, and some so far off you'll not even know it. In this take courage‚ take strength, knowing that the one little one that you reach is helping to reach many more that you know not of. Though you feel that your candle is so weak, remember that it's shining in a place of great darkness. Keep your candle out from under the bushel. Keep your candle out upon the tabletop, so that my people may see its light flickering in the distance.

210. Hold forth your candle. Don't look at how small and weak it is, but hold it forth with great pride, so that my people may look up and see this light in the distance. Hold it forth with great courage, for my people have a great need to look up and see its beauty. Do not fail them, but hold it forth. Give them the light that their hearts desire, and don't count the results upon your own hands. Count the results by faith‚ knowing that there are many, many seeking to follow this beauty. Even though many will follow afar off, this ray of hope will be the beginning of their entering into the halls of Heaven.

211. And remember that I am on your side helping to usher them in. So even though you're not able to completely strip them of the darkness and give them a full understanding of the Heaven that awaits them, even though you feel like you barely scratch the surface in their lives, and perhaps all they did was see the light and smiled at it‚ know that if they have shown an acceptance in their heart, the Lord is reaching out with long, loving‚ everlasting arms of love, and He is making it possible for them to come the rest of the way into His Heavenly Kingdom. He has not closed the door on them because of the darkness round about them that makes it difficult for them to understand. But He passionately, mercifully‚ and graciously allows those who yielded to a flicker of light in a small way to make the choice to come the full way once they have passed that threshold from life to death.

212. With great joy I've been given the job to help usher them in, to dust away the death of the past and to give them the passport of Jesus into the beautiful Heaven of the future. There are many of us now working in this capacity. There are many who are helping me to help others, ushering them in to the Kingdom of Heaven. So do your part. Allow your light to shine, and hold it forth in great boldness! Be not afraid to hold it forth. Don't hold back. Don't give up. Don't be timid. Don't look at your light and feel so weak that you set it down. Pick it up in your hand and hold it high. For many, many more people will see it in this way. Many more people will say, "Ah, this is a light that I want and desire." And even though many will not get past that point, that glimpse of hope, that glimpse of faith, that small seed of faith in their heart is the beginning of them entering into the Kingdom.

213. Many you will be able to personally lead to Jesus in a salvation prayer. But others you will not be able to lead that far. They may only see the light, but not hear the words of instruction for how to obtain it. Do not be weary in well doing, for we will follow through where you cannot. The Lord has made it thus. For He has great compassion upon my people, and He understands the darkness that cuts them off from His light. He understands the difficulties you have in reaching them with the full message‚ but He has not allowed them to be cut off in despair. For those who have said, "Yes, it is a beautiful light; I would like to have it," for those who have acknowledged this in their hearts even in a small way, He is offering full understanding when they pass from death to life.

214. With this I want to encourage you, His missionaries‚ to hold that light high, to do your best to feed and to care for those who come to you wholeheartedly. At the same time, hold forth that light even in places that you feel you can't do the full job of bringing them in. Don't be afraid. Don't worry about how you will care for them. Just hold forth that light and trust that we on the other side are doing the rest. We care greatly for our people. And we are very happy and thankful for you missionaries who are reaching out to our people. But you can accomplish much, much more if you hold forth this light with greater boldness. Please do so‚ so that more like my parents may see that light and acknowledge it, even if it is from afar off.

215. This is a message that I have wanted to give to you to encourage you that you are not alone in this battle, in this dark land. (End of message from departed Chinese Christian.)

Message from Chiang Kai-shek

216. (Mama:) In this next message‚ Chiang Kai-shek is talking primarily to the people of the world, not to us as the Family. We're not publishing this for the GP at this time, but we wanted to share it with you in this special China GN, as he gives good insight into the Chinese people, communism, and of course, their very great need for Jesus and His love.

CHIANG KAI-SHEK (1887-1975), Chinese military and political leader. Chiang was born in the Zhejiang Province when the Manchu dynasty ruled China. He received a military education in China and Tokyo. In Tokyo he met Sun Yat–sen, the Chinese revolutionary leader‚ and joined Sun's organization. The Manchu dynasty was overthrown and China was proclaimed a republic in 1912. Sun died in 1925, and the next year Chiang took command of the Nationalist Army.

In 1926, Nationalist forces, aided by Communist organizers, left Canton on a campaign against warlords in the north. The warlords were defeated and the Nationalists became the strongest force in China. In 1927, he married Soong Mei-ling and later became a Christian.

From 1928 to 1937, Chiang improved economic and political institutions in China. However, the Japanese military and Chinese Communists continually sabotaged his regime. The Japanese attack on China in 1937 made it necessary for the Nationalists to form a united front with the Communists. Chiang assumed full military power in this union and led China to victory in 1945.

Near the end of World War II, when Japanese surrender became inevitable‚ fighting between the Nationalists and the Communists resumed. Chiang issued a new constitution and called for a popular election. In 1948, Chiang was elected president of China. But these measures failed to ensure political stability. The Communists were winning the civil war.

By the end of 1949, the Communists had driven Chiang and his armies from the Chinese mainland to the island of Taiwan‚ which lies off China's coast in the China Sea. On Taiwan, Chiang took full military and civil authority and was reelected president in 1954, 1960, 1966, and 1972.)

217. (Chiang Kai-shek speaking:) Can you feel the cold, chilling, fierce winds of communism as they blow across my vast country? Can you see the multitudes trudging day by day, step by step, heads bowed low? Weary, weary are my people. What darkness, what coldness covers the land! Many cry, many search, many reach out‚ but they are held in bondage! They're held beneath the heavy weight of dictatorship that does not allow freedom of speech, freedom of thought, freedom of religion. What darkness, what suffering, what emptiness of heart and sadness of soul as these‚ my people, trudge along, weary and cold and in such sadness.

218. I fought for my people. I lived for my people, and I fought against this dark, cold blanket of communism, for I knew that with it came bondage and slavery. What a waste that my once strong people have been broken—their spirits broken, their minds inhibited, their freedom lost. Many were once refined and wise and strong and beautiful. But now they simply trudge along in endless monotony with no future‚ no hope, no escape from this darkness of communism.

219. Hear the winds howl as they blow. Think not that these winds and this raging storm will be confined within the borders of this, my country, for you are deceived if you think this. For there is even now a great and mighty storm brewing. You Christians of the West who are sleeping spiritually see it not, because you are deceived and blind. You are weakened through your own iniquity, so you see not that these howling, chilling winds of communism even now blow to encircle the globe, to bring their bondage, death and darkness to multitudes.

220. There was a time when my people were full of light, when there were many, many missionaries. There were many good, kind people with white skin telling the story of Jesus. They traveled freely, they spoke freely, they helped the poor and the rich alike. They gave to all a message of love and freedom, and many reached out and took this message into their hearts, and they found Jesus. So, so many Christians, Chinese Christians! This wave of Christianity was sweeping across my country and my people were so hungry for the truth. They were so receptive to these beautiful people with white skin.

221. When I was young, many times I sat at the feet of missionaries, teachers who told me the story of love. They told me the story of the God of love, who sent His Son to die for all mankind—all the peoples of the Earth‚ regardless of the color of their skin, regardless of their traditions, regardless of the shape of their eyes, or their former religions. All of that mattered not, because this God of love had given His Son to bring life to all.

222. I heard this story and I wanted to believe it, but I was a restless youth, impatient for change. I was rebellious and strong in my own mind, so I wanted proof. I wanted some kind of sign about this great God who lived in the spirit world, whose name was Love. I wanted some kind of sign about this one called Jesus, this religion of these white people who were kind and beautiful, whose eyes were like gems, and whose faces were soft and tender‚ and whose hands were always reaching out to those in need, who labored day and night, giving of themselves for my people. But even seeing them and their life of sacrifice was not enough for me. I needed a sign about this one they called the Savior. They sang of Him and they prayed to Him, they lifted up their hands to Him, and they spoke of Him continually.

223. I was burdened with many cares, many worries, many fears. I did not have the peace of mind or heart that these people had. I knew that they were kind and good, but I did not know why. I knew that they had peace, and that they were not afraid of death, but I did not know why. I sought for a sign, for a miracle‚ something to show me that it was the truth.

224. And then, many years later, when I least expected it, when I was burdened and tired, desperate and lost, I found my sign. I saw the miracle that I was looking for.

225. In a dream I trudged down a dark, dark path and I kept falling and getting up again, and falling and getting up again. I struggled and I couldn't see my way, and it was dark and I didn't have the strength to carry my load. I didn't know where I was going and I didn't know how I would make it to my destination. I was so tired and so weak and so lost and I kept falling. I kept falling and getting up, each time more tired, each time feeling more hopeless.

226. Then in my dream I remembered the story of the missionaries and I called out to this one named Jesus. At that moment, a hand reached down and lifted me up. I looked into the face of this One, and He had the same eyes of jewels as the missionary people had. I felt the same love, the same kindness and the same peace that they had shown—and I knew that this was the One that they had spoken of. I knew that this was the Savior, and I knew then that He loved me and that He wanted to reach out His hand to me and lead me down the path. He wanted to enlighten my way and help me to make it to the journey's end. I knew that He was there for me, to help me and guide me and love me.

227. I never forgot this beautiful, beautiful face of the Savior. I never forgot this outstretched arm‚ for it was then that I received Him as my own. I knew that the story of the missionaries was the truth, for He had given me the sign that I had sought, and I had seen the miracle that I needed.

228. And so I became one of His Own. And it is for this reason that I fought so desperately against the communists‚ against the revolution of Mao Tse-tung, against the armies that came from the north to fight against my gentle people in the south. Because I knew that with this dark blanket of communism would come the expulsion of the missionaries and the beautiful people with their story of love. I had to fight for this reason.

229. But my people were not strong enough. We were weakened, and on our own we could not withstand the onslaughts from the north. We tried to stand our ground, but we lost many. Many, many soldiers and warriors and women and children were lost, killed at the hands of the evil ones. We needed help, we needed strength, we needed support, but on our own we could not make it.

230. So although it broke our hearts, we fled to save our people, to save their lives, and to begin a new life. We fled to a small land where we felt we would be free and protected, where we could continue to love God, to think our thoughts, and be a free people. It was a great‚ great loss and a great, great humbling, but it was the only solution.

231. Now I look across my vast land and I see my people in darkness‚ weeping and lost, and my heart breaks for them. What a loss! So many lives left in darkness! What a tragedy‚ that those who were our friends and supporters, those strong countries who pledged to defend the weak, became cowards and deserted us in the moment of our greatest need. They lost heart, they lost sight of the goal and the need, and they went back, thinking that it wouldn't be a great loss, that they would not suffer. They turned around and left to save themselves—these great nations of the West, these who were the supposed defenders of the weak, these who supposedly were the ones bringing light and truth and Christianity to the world.

232. But at this point, they loved themselves more than the truth, and more than the fight for righteousness. At this point, they thought more of their own safety and security and economy than they thought of the righteousness of the war against communism. They did not see that this would be the beginning of the end of freedom in this great land.

233. And now these great powers of the West think that they are free and righteous, that they defend the poor and speak the truth, but they are liars and hypocrites. They do not speak the truth and they do not defend the poor. They do not preach righteousness and love and Christianity; these are all things of the past. Now these great powers of the West have become corrupt and full of iniquity and wickedness. They have become weak through their own sins, because they have turned their backs on their God. They no longer serve Him, fear Him, or love Him. And now, though they think they are strong and leaders of the world, they are deceived, for they are weak and soon to fall.

234. For in the time when they stopped defending the poor and preaching the Gospel and fearing God, but instead turned their eyes inward to themselves and their own wealth and their own protection‚ their own economic progress, they lost the blessing of God. Where once their message of the Gospel and Christianity and Jesus spread around the world, now their message of violence and hate and abortion and drugs and killing spreads around the world.

235. These rich nations will be accountable for the death and pollution of many weaker people around the world, and the blood of many will be required at their hands. For they stood by and did nothing as the poor and meek of the world were slaughtered. And they still stand by and do nothing to defend the rights of the people in my nation. Those who fight for democracy, freedom of thought and freedom of religion are killed at the hands of evil dictators. And yet these nations who once were great in the name of God do nothing. They turn and look the other way and pretend they do not see—all for their economic gain.

236. But the blood of my people will be required at their hand, because they do nothing to defend the poor, and they have left their greatest calling of bringing the truth of the Gospel to those who do not know Jesus. So there are generations of my people who have never heard, because the Christians of the world do not stir themselves and do not let their hearts break for my people who live in darkness. The Christians of the world have so much truth and so much security, and yet they do nothing to seek out my people who live in darkness.

237. But I am Here in the Heavenly Kingdom and I fight for my people! I see their need and I hear their cries. I know their heartaches and their pain and their suffering, and Jesus has granted me a special dispensation of His grace, that I might fight from the spirit world to engineer open doors that my people might hear the message of the Gospel, that my people might hear the story of Jesus from the missionaries as I did as a youth, that they might have the opportunity to find freedom and love and salvation as I did.

238. So I work from the spirit world‚ myself and other Christians from my nation who have come to this side. We fight together to open the door and make a way under the dark, black curtain of communism. There will be the opening‚ there will be the way; it only remains for the Christians to enter that door and give the message to my people.

239. So I say to you, Christians of the world: Stir yourselves up and cast off your lethargy, lest the blood of these, my people, be upon your hands! For the Lord will open a door into this vast land that all may have a chance to hear the Words of Jesus, that all may have a chance to make a choice whether to receive or to reject Him. But it is up to you to enter that door. It is up to you to be His instrument and His voice, and to be used of Him to preach His Words. For the Lord will have mercy on these‚ my people, who might never hear otherwise. He will give them an opportunity to be taught and to learn of His mercy and His love, even if it must be in the spirit world on the other side, for He is a merciful and great God.

240. But you Christians who know will be held accountable‚ and you will be blessed according to that which you do for the Kingdom of God. When you come to this side, only what you have done for Jesus will matter; everything else will be lost, burned, and blown away. Only what you have done for Jesus will be remembered. So take heed to my warning and watch for the open doors. Have faith and courage to enter in, and the God of love will place around you a shield of protection that you might boldly proclaim His truth. He will make a way in the darkness if you are willing to be His light, and great‚ so great‚ will be your reward in Heaven. (End of message from Chiang Kai-shek.)
