Stories of and by Active Members and Friends of the Family

The Lord has promised wonderful fruit in lives changed and disciples won as a result of the Activated magazine and program.

Oh, the benefits you are going to reap! If you could only see, if you could only fathom the great and awesome explosion that is about to take place and the tremendous fruit that will result! I ask you, dear ones, to brace yourselves! You must get ready for the repercussions, for so great will be the fallout, so widespread will be the explosion that you have never seen anything like it. Never in all of history has there been so great a moving of My Spirit as you are about to witness! (ML #3385:61).

As you set out to obey the Activated vision, the Lord has been bringing along many who have rejoiced to discover the Activated magazine, and to find shepherds in us, the Family.

In this issue are testimonies from many of these people—stories of our contact with them, of their growth, of changed lives, of miracles the Lord has done to encourage their faith, and of answered prayer for them. There’s so much more—we just couldn’t contain it all in these pages. We hope it is an encouragement to you to have this small glimpse of how our Family is expanding through Activated, as the Lord promised.

Activation!

Disciples Coming In

By Prem and Ruth, India

The Lord’s promises about bringing in disciples have come true before our eyes. Three years ago, the Lord led us to a dear lady who runs three schools outside our city. Our association with her started when we did a couple of programs for her schools. She enjoyed these programs and signed us up for a series of seminars.

As we got to know her better, we discovered that she really loved the Lord and had quite a hunger for the Word, so we started giving her Reflections and other classes. She would not only read these herself, but would also post them in her schools for all to read. She also started sending her 10-year-old daughter to our Home for Bible studies every Sunday morning.

When Activated came out she signed up right away, and has bought practically all of our Get Activated books, videos, tapes, CDs, and Mottos for Success—not just for herself, but to distribute to others as well. She has taken it upon herself to support us, and has us regularly do programs, shows, and seminars for her schools. These have been a tremendous blessing and have gone a long way in helping us financially over the last few years.

It hasn’t always been the easiest thing in the world to follow up on her, as she is very busy. But the times we have had her over to our Home to attend the Church of Love have been special and have brought her in closer.

Recently, she had us train a group of children in one of her schools to perform the “Change the World” drama and a dramatized version of the “Two Froggies” song. The kids then performed these for an audience of nearly 1,000 people. Sitting in the audience were top government officials who really liked the drama. When one gentleman got up to make a speech, he referred again and again to “Change the World,” saying it was a message that was needed desperately in the world today.

But what really touched our hearts was when our dear friend rose to speak. She had in her hands the Obstacles Are for Overcoming book, and said, “I would like to read a prayer to all of you.” She proceeded to read the poem, “I asked God for strength that I might achieve. I was made weak that I might learn to obey. ...” A hush fell over the audience as she read, and when she finished her poem, the applause went on loud and long.

Amar’s Story

By Simon Simple, Delhi Activated Home

When the New Year 2001 dawned last year, as a Home we specifically prayed that the Lord would lead us to potential Active members and real labor leaders. Little did we realize how quickly the Lord was going to answer that prayer.

At the end of January the India Activated Desk forwarded to us an e-mail that they had received from a young man named Amar who had received a copy of Activated. The e-mail said:

Dear sir, I am highly inquisitive about life’s basic questions. Please send me your magazine. I would also like to meet you.

When we went to meet him we found that Amar was a final year student studying in one of India’s premier engineering colleges here in New Delhi. We met him and spent hours talking to him, listening to him, and answering his questions from the Bible. We also left him with a set of Get Activated booklets. The next day we received this e-mail:

The collections of books you have given me were exactly those books that I was looking for, for years. It seems as if these books were written for me. I am so grateful. I am still a baby in this field, so you must take care of me! … I am seeing changes in myself. I know Jesus will never leave me alone. I must say I am born again! Please pray for me. … It’s my first priority now to work for Jesus.”

Suffice it to say that when we went to visit Amar again, it was an exciting meeting! He had deep questions on faith, and on hearing from God. It was wonderful to sit with this receptive young man and show him the answers in the Bible and the Letters. We invited him to the city youth meeting where he saw the Countdown to Armageddon video. He was thrilled to learn that we are living in the time of the End, and that Jesus is going to return soon.

Amar has been sharing all the books we have given him with other needy students in the college and also passing out “To You—With Love” tracts to his fellow students, some of whom are very keen on learning more about the Lord. This weekend we will be conducting a Bible study for Amar and his friends.

Please keep Amar, his friends, and this budding ministry to this group of India’s ‘cream of the crop’ students in your prayers. Thank you! They are fruit of the Activated magazine and program! It works!

Finding Family “Up North Namibia”

By Philip, Meekness, and Magda, Namibia, Africa

Imagine a small town, 800 kilometers from a cozy Hosme, deep in the interior of Africa. Picture dusty, dry “highways”; forests of tall, wild palm trees; elephants crossing the road, while silhouettes of golden eagles hover above. Women in colorful dresses carry buckets of water, as small children play with homemade toy cars, all of them waving at you. Clay pots on sale are displayed for those passing by. This is the land “up north Namibia,” which we recently visited and grew to love.

On our three-week trip we visited our most on-fire students of the Correspondent Bible Study Course (CBSC), as well as faithful friends and supporters. The first town, Rundu, is 800 km from our Home and Katima Mulilo (“Put out the fire”) is 1,500 km away, both of them near the often-disturbed Angolan border.

Martins (19) and Sergio (20) were totally flipped out about our coming. Martins commented, “This is amazing! The missionaries are here!” They are brothers, both students of our Correspondent Bible Study Course, which they recently completed, receiving their diplomas and Treasures books. Currently they are receiving sponsored Activated magazines, and they are very thankful! They said that they like the Word very much and that reading and studying the Activated magazine is helping them to grow into more solid, mature Christians.

Completely on their own initiative, Martins and Sergio give out hundreds of posters and tracts to their friends, neighbors, and many people in this rural area. They sometimes go from hut to hut or from place to place and collect the addresses of many people interested in studying the Bible via our Correspondent Course. Then they pack all those addresses and send them to us in one fat envelope to save on the postage.

We were so happy to meet with them! We had a simple lunch and Bible study together. When we studied parts of the Gospel of John verse by verse, they were thrilled. Just going slow, studying one verse at a time, learning from the Word by applying it personally was a new way of reading the Bible for them. Their sister Alda (17), also a Bible Course student, came to the second meeting and was very receptive and thankful.

We went to visit their parents, who live in a simple hut settlement near Rundu. When we arrived, a twin-tub washing machine was working outside their hut and small children were sitting in the sand. The whole family came to greet us! They have eight children. The parents were very thankful that their children have the opportunity to study the Bible and to learn more about the Lord. The mother commented in Portuguese, “I am very thankful for the missionaries from the Family!”

Before we departed, we invited Sergio, Martins and Alda to come and visit us in our Home during their school holiday. In the past we have had students of our Bible Course come and stay with us for a couple of weeks. We get to know each other better, have more time to read and study the Word together, and we can teach them how to personal witnessing, which is always a life-changing experience for them.

When we were talking about their ministry of preaching the Gospel via lit distribution, which they do regularly, Martins mentioned that they have plans to meet once a week with all “Family members” from their town. They are looking into the possibility of using a schoolroom or other similar place to hold regular meetings. They said they want to meet to read and study the Bible, the Activated magazines, and pray together. They have such zeal and willingness to do more for the Lord!

We took our whole family to visit many of our friends and supporters in those remote parts of Namibia. Many new doors opened during this trip and the Lord more than supplied all our needs. Sure, we had some nights when we all (two big and six small fellows) had to sleep in one van, but after passing this test the Lord supplied one week of accommodations and meals at a real safari lodge. We listened to live drums and village people’s singing coming from the distance at night, and in the morning were awakened by a chorale of hundreds of African birds.

At one point we traveled 250 km in a convoy escorted by soldiers with machine guns affixed on top of the cars, as there have been a few incidents of Angolan Unita rebels attacking, killing, and wounding people driving through this area. We got stuck twice in deep sand, but every time the Lord sent some friendly, helpful folks to help us actually lift the van up in order to free it! He also protected us against malaria and other sicknesses that are widespread in this part of Namibia. And our whole witnessing adventure was spiced with the aura of the African continent—wild animals, breathtaking sunsets, and colorful people.

P.S. If you would like, we would be happy to send you the latest updated version of our Correspondent Bible Study Course. Please contact us at: phlmeek@mweb.com.na. (Note: It is also available on the Members Only Web site: http://www.familymembers.com.)

Not for Anything in the World

By Tom (of Esther), India

It was another rainy day and we were to have a Bible study that evening. William was on his fifth issue of Activated and immensely enjoyed our weekly Bible studies. He sometimes had some of his employees or relatives join us for class.

We’d also invited Veena, who works as a secretary for a large company across town. We’d invited her several times before, but being a widowed mother of two made it difficult for her to attend. We frequently saw her at her workplace, but our conversations there never got too deep because of the environment. One thing she always commented on, though, was how much she loved receiving and reading the Activated magazine.

“My children love to read it, too!” she’d exclaimed. “I think it’s very good for them.”

One of the other employees there, Edwin, would tell us the same: “My children rush for it when it arrives. My son even drew a large version of one of the back pages’ pictures.”

Today Veena was able to join us for the class, bringing her eight-year-old son along.

We had a few things prepared, depending on who showed up. After I sang a few songs and we prayed together, the Lord showed me to read Matthew five through seven. This was not part of the plan, but I followed the Lord’s lead, trusting that He would inspire me as we went along.

This section contains the passage, “Love your enemies.” This turned out to be the key because after the reading, Veena began telling us about her life as a Christian. She is from a Hindu family and doesn’t call herself a Christian in the sense of “not a Hindu.” Yet she testifies openly about her faith. She says that since following Jesus she has had such happiness that she can’t get upset or be sour toward anyone. Many of her relatives have come over to ask her if she’s up to something, and one of them even sent Veena’s mother over late at night to check on her! They couldn’t understand what was going on—and asked if she was hiding a man in her house!

Some of them would also tell her that she shouldn’t keep a Bible in her house. She explained to us that she keeps it on a small table near the entrance, so everyone notices it. With conviction, she tells them that in her house no one can tell her what she should and shouldn’t do. She has suffered a lot of persecution because of her faith. People have pelted her with stones and turned away when she approaches, but she is amazed at the supernatural peace and love that the Lord gives her.

This testimony was such an encouragement, because when you look at her you’d think that she doesn’t have a care in the world. Even though she is a single mother and has to work very hard to keep up, she’s always so happy and friendly, even by Indian standards, which is quite something as Indians are already very kind and respectful. You can tell that she wouldn’t give up that happiness for anything in the world.

Hearing her tell us this showed me how powerful the Word is. The main feeding she has received has been the Activated mailings, which have truly made her a strong Christian.

Their Growth

Heaven’s Power

By Maria, Medellin, Colombia

For years Armando has been a very loyal, on-fire, dedicated Active member—a real crazy crusader. He spent the Feast 2002 with us in the Home. After the vows were given and all had heard from the Lord unitedly, each attendee went to hear from Jesus personally.

Armando received his personalized message from Jesus, too. Among other things, the Lord told him that he was going to be a powerful witness to many and that He needed him to reach certain people that only he could reach. Jesus specifically told him the names of two people he should go in His Name and witness to.

Armando was very excited and inspired about such a challenge. The two people the Lord told him to witness to are very prominent businessmen in this country, and thus not easy to reach. Still, Armando knew that if Jesus told him to do it, it was because he could do it through His power, the power of the keys of the Kingdom. Praise the Lord!

Since then, Armando has been praying for these people and hoping the Lord would give him opportunities to travel to the city where they live. Shortly after the Feast, because of his business, he had to travel there, and he was reminded by the Lord to visit one of these men. Armando looked into how to visit this particular fellow, only to find that he didn’t receive any visitors without prior appointments and that an appointment, if given, would take up to two weeks to get.

So Armando had to fight his carnal reasoning and worldly thoughts for a while, as the Lord told him to go straightaway to this man’s office without any previous call or appointment through his secretary. So off he went, calling on the power of the keys all the way to this man’s office.

To Armando’s surprise, the secretary was extremely kind and cooperative. In no more than five minutes, Armando was face to face with this very important magnate, who is in fact almost worshipped in some quarters.

Armando told us that when he entered this man’s office he went blank and didn’t know what to say! But the Lord told him to just say the words He had originally told him in His personalized message to him.

So Armando told this man that he didn’t visit him for business or for any monetary purpose, but that he was there to give him a message from Jesus. The man was in total awe! It turned out that this man, in his 70s, had lost his only son about a year before when he committed suicide. He was very heartbroken and in great need of love and comfort. Armando took time to witness to him, giving him some pubs and a Mottos calendar. The man was so, so thankful and appreciative.

At the end of the meeting, Armando explained the salvation prayer and right there the man prayed to receive Jesus into his heart. Thank You, Jesus! All in all, Armando was over an hour and a half with this man, who said, “Everybody comes to visit me to ask me for things or favors, but you were the first one to come and give me something.”

Prophecy and a Special Woman

By Christina Trusting, Russia

We have a long-term contact who was already a Christian when we met her. Her husband is an influential businessman, and due to his work, she is often around people who are real Systemites in the worst sense of the word. She herself is quite receptive to the Spirit. Still, because of her position in society, we felt we should go slowly in feeding her the Word.

Eventually we introduced her to the idea of the Endtime. At first she was taken back, thinking that we were going too far in our beliefs. We were not even sure if she would want to be as close to us after that. But she did, and the more we shared with her about the Endtime, the more receptive to the idea she became. She learned to see the signs of the End in world events, and asked us to start giving her Endtime classes.

Some time ago we received a prophecy for her, in which the Lord was encouraging her to try to hear from Him. That also was quite a bottle-breaker for her.

Then later she invited me to go on a retreat with her and some of her friends, so we went to a little camp outside of the city for two days. At home I’m usually very busy and rarely have time to just rest, so I tried to spend some time at that camp resting and hearing from the Lord. One evening this woman came into my room and asked me what I was doing. I told her that I was trying to hear from the Lord. She asked me how I was doing it and I told her that I was just sitting quietly, praying, and waiting for the Lord to speak to me.

She seemed very interested. After that we talked for some time and then she left for her room. The next morning she told everybody that she wouldn’t be coming for breakfast and would rather rest. Some time later that day, she rushed up to me in total excitement, whispering in my ear that she had tried to hear from the Lord and that He did speak to her! She was literally jumping up and down with joy!

She quoted to me a few things she got from the Lord, and she looked so happy! After we returned home, she called me and thanked me over and over again for the prophecy that we had given her some time before. She said that now she had read it over and over, and that it really spoke to her, as she finally realized that the Lord really meant it!

Now we just need to introduce her to the idea of hearing from Him all the time, not just on retreats. Ha! Please pray for her, as she is a very special woman.

Their Witness

Followers of the Teaching

By Jakisa, Active member, Uganda

Note from the editors: Jakisa is a dear Active member who our Family team met on a short missionary trip into Congo. He has since received training at the Family Home in Uganda, and has passed on Activated materials and Family training in Congo and in Paidha, Uganda, winning souls and disciples. (The accounts of our Family’s original meeting with him, as well as the scope and fruit of his ministry are related in FARs 146, 165,166, and FSM 375.)

Together with his wife and other Active members, Jakisa operated an orphanage in Bunia (Congo), which is the one of the main cities in the rebel-held section of eastern Congo. He also headed up an outreach to Pygmies living in the jungle near Bunia, succeeding in leading many of them to the Lord, a feat which many missionaries have been unable to accomplish.

The Lord led Jakisa and his family to move to Paidha in northwest Uganda. Here is the story of His leading, supply, and the explosion in souls and disciples that resulted.

I always thank God for how He has done such a great work in my life, by giving me the wonderful opportunity of meeting Him! I am also thankful to receive the living teaching of His Word through His faithful people, the Family, who teach and train others sacrificially, and do not expect to gain anything from others.

Recently, the Lord began to lead my family (my wife Amina; my daughter Abigail, 2; my son Daniel, 1) and me in a new direction. In May and June of 2001, life became very difficult for us in Bunia. We had no provision (food) to eat. We had no soap to wash our clothes. We were not even able to buy paraffin for our lamps. One after another we would get sick. These things brought us to the point of asking Jesus, “What is going on, and what should we do?”

Praise the Lord! He is faithful to all His promises! He said in the Bible, “Call unto Me and I will answer thee.” One Saturday morning we met together, all my family, and made a “phone call” to Jesus. The Lord told us that the door to stay and serve Him in Bunia was closed, and that we had to ask Him again about where to go, as it was time to make a big decision. Jesus then told us that we had to leave, and said to move to Paidha (a border town in Uganda, just outside Congo) and settle there for His work. We also felt led us to visit the Family in Uganda, who live close to Paidha.

In our minds, though, it was not easy to understand the reason that the Lord would tell us to go to a place that we were not used to, as we were used to living in Bunia, even though things had become impossible for us. Well, He brought to our mind His written Word, Joshua 1:3: “Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you.”

So we asked Jesus to supply the money for our transport to Paidha. He didn’t tell us anything more, so we had to keep on focusing on Him, as we didn’t want to make any mistakes in our decision to move. Also, we were worried about His existing work of training the disciples and caring for the orphans in Bunia. But Jesus told us: “It is time for you to put your faith into works. I, the Lord, I am in control of every single thing that you worry about.”

With this we were encouraged and so I asked my wife, Amina, to assist me in packing a few of our clothes that we would need, and then to leave everything else for our brethren in Bunia to use. Then we prayed and told Jesus, “We are leaving now.”

He answered us and said, “Go ahead!” Hallelujah!

We went to the taxi park by faith, without any money in our pockets. The Lord honored His Word! Before we reached the taxi park, we met a friend, and he asked us, “Where are you going?”

“To Uganda,” we answered.

He said, “Why didn’t you tell us before? Here, I have only $5. Can it help you?”

“Yes!” we replied. “God bless you!”

A few minutes later, when we reached the taxi-park, a friend named Lydia came to us and asked us the same question, “Where are you going?”

Our answer was the same: “To Uganda.” So she gave us $10. Lydia said that she was sorry that she did not know before, otherwise she could have given us more money.

I did not want to delay and say goodbye to my parents and brothers, so one of my elder brothers, Kudu Ubotu-saba, who is one of our disciples, rushed over and gave us $10. So all these gifts paid for our transport to Paidha. It was the beginning of signs showing us that the door for God’s work in Paidha was being opened wide.

The Lord provides

Upon reaching Paidha, we had to phone our pastors and teachers at the Family Home in Kampala. We had in mind to set a fleece (we were checking and checking again) to confirm the will of God for us to stay in Paidha.

The day came when we arrived in Kampala to visit the Family and tell them about our plans. I told Oliver about the matter, and we prayed about it together. After we prayed, the Spirit of the Lord spoke through Oliver, giving us a message in prophecy. He confirmed that it was great for us to be based in between Kampala and Congo, so we could work both with our disciples in the Congo, and at the same time be closer to the members of the Family in Kampala. By moving to Paidha, we could also start the work of the Lord there.

The team in Kampala encouraged us and gave us some donations (mattresses, soap, medicines, kitchen utensils, etc.) and they even gave us a gift for our other needs, including funds for our transport and for renting our new house in Paidha. Praise the Lord!

When we arrived in Paidha, the Lord fulfilled His promise to us where He said, “Every place that the soles of your feet shall tread upon, that have I given unto you.” The people we met in Paidha were very sweet to us. We first met my friend Bernard, who talked to a man about allowing us to rent his house. The man came to us and told us that we have to pay him 25,000 shillings ($15) a month. He had some things in the house and told us to use whatever we might need, and to give him back whatever we might not need.

Then Bernard started telling people about our mission to Paidha. He even told the chiefs of the villages of the town council. After some time, we started to train a few people, all of whom are Congolese: Julias, David, and François (who had fed the Family team when they first visited Paidha).

François began sharing what he was learning with another man called Uaikany (pronounced WHY-CAN). Uaikany is the manager at the carpentry workshop where François works, and he wanted to know more. So he invited me to their workshop on a Sunday evening, and I witnessed to him about Jesus. He also became “a follower of the teaching”—a disciple.

With Uaikany, we started regular Bible classes at a local place called Afoyo-Mungu restaurant (Thank God restaurant). We also began teaching Mr. Jaribicong, who is the treasurer of the workshop, a Christian lady working in the restaurant, and some others. Now we have Bible classes with these people three times a week.

A discipleship seminar in Paidha

Shortly after setting up in Paidha, we were visited by a team from the Family. The team of five people—Joshua, Becky, Lisa (Lee), Kelvin and Andrew—had originally planned to go to Sudan, but was unable to go at the time. So the Lord told them to come to Paidha instead, and they obeyed.

When the team from the Family arrived, we had a wonderful discipleship-training course. They taught many subjects, including eternal salvation, witnessing, the Holy Spirit, how to receive and judge prophecies, the Endtime, etc. These Bible classes were very fruitful.

Note: For more on this discipleship seminar, see the report by Lisa and Josh in an upcoming FSM!

Since the team from the Family returned to Kampala, things have exploded here in Paidha to the point that some of the disciples like François the carpenter, Julias, and others have dropped out of their jobs and businesses to serve Jesus as full-time disciples.

Our present training

At the moment, we are training 14 faithful disciples who are witnessing to others and winning more souls for Jesus. Each one of them has a small group of three or four new disciples to train. When they get more, they always report to us (Amina and me) so that we can visit the new disciples and encourage them. We have Bible classes in our home three times a week with the 14 faithful disciples. We also teach three times a week at Afoyo-Mungu restaurant with another team. We follow up on other people and train them in their own homes.

The story of Rukia

We are very enthusiastic about what the Lord is doing in giving us the opportunity to witness about Him to others. He is adding more and more disciples day by day, most of whom were Muslim. For example, there is a 19-year-old formerly Muslim girl named Rukia, who is one of our new born-again disciples from Bunia.

Originally, she was having many problems with her marriage, was chased away by her husband’s parents, and then became a single mother. She prayed with us while still in Bunia and we taught her how to communicate with Jesus in prayer. After this, the Lord then told her to leave Bunia and come to Paidha, even though she did not even know that we were already here.

One day I saw her at a telephone station here in Paidha trying to phone us, and she looked very sad. I saw her first, and went to give her a hug. Her face changed immediately! From that very day, she started coming to our home for Bible classes with the other disciples.

Later Rukia’s two-year-old boy got lost; it was while the Family was here. Rukia’s mum was very angry and told Rukia to go with her to a witch doctor to find out where the boy went. But Rukia told her mum that she had to go and meet her pastor (me, Jakisa), and ask Jesus about the matter. She wanted to listen to the Word of God rather than go to the witch doctor. Of course, she came to our home and spent most of the time listening to the Word.

The mother was very angry, and came to our home with a weapon! But it was wonderful because this was a special opportunity for her to know our home and for all of us to witness to her about Jesus. We were also able to introduce her to the team from the Family (who were here at the time), and after witnessing to her some more, Joshua asked her to pray to receive Jesus in her heart. She did, hallelujah! Shortly after that, they found Rukia’s son!

A few days later, Rukia’s father discovered that even his wife had gotten saved, and he started persecuting the two of them, because he saw that they had completely changed and no longer kept the Islamic law. But on a certain Sunday, I was passing close by their house on my way to a Bible class, when Rukia saw me and called to me. When I got there, her mother begged her husband to talk with me. So we talked, but I was being careful. Most of my answers to him were “I don’t know.” I tried to talk about what things we Christians and Muslims have in common, so that I could win him. Finally, he was very happy and agreed to pray to receive Jesus. Rukia’s brother (Mr. Kabasoko Isa) received Jesus as well.

Pray for anointing and supply

Please claim the anointing for our disciples in Paidha and pray also desperately and specifically for the Lord to supply a portable computer for His work here and in the Congo. Most of the people in Paidha and the Congo do not speak English but speak Swahili. In the Congo, many people also speak French. We have started working on translations in both languages, and we have already translated much of the Bible Basics into Swahili. We have only been able to translate onto paper, but if we had a computer, we could transfer the translations to a file and send them to the Family for printing in the future. We have to really pray desperately to the Lord to do miracles and supply a computer to make the work easier, so that His Word can reach every creature (Mark 16:15).

By Josh: For the time being, Jakisa has been traveling to our Home in Kampala to type up the Swahili translations. (We taught him how to use our computer.) We then print the Swahili classes and photocopy them for him to pass on to the disciples in Congo.

His determination to fulfill these goals of translating the literature is very inspiring. He deeply understands the need to get the Wonder-Working Words into the hands of others who can help change the world, and he’s applying great initiative toward doing something about it!

He was also very encouraged to receive a free shipment of 100 Swahili Bibles that were generously donated by the Mombasa Home in Kenya.—God bless them! Such gifts really help to fill the need for Swahili literature in Congo, and it encouraged Jakisa to receive them!

Jakisa continues: These are some things that we have to pray for God to supply:

1. One computer (for translating and printing God’s Word).

2. One mobile phone (for communicating with the Family in Kampala).

3. Writing paper.

4. Renting our house: 25,000 shillings ($15) per month (for living in and training new disciples).

5. Food (rice, cooking oil, sugar, etc.).

6.Blankets and bed sheets. (It is cold in Paidha.)

7. Paraffin/kerosene (for the lamps, for studying the Word at night).

May God bless you mightily and keep us always in touch in the Spirit!

An E-mail Ministry

By Lucas, Active member, Brazil

When I first met the Family, I was receiving simple messages via e-mail myself, like Reflections and other things that talk about the Lord’s love. Each time I received one, it really touched me because it was usually about something that I was going through. I was so thankful that the Lord had sent these missionaries to faithfully send these messages to me.

So I started photocopying different texts and giving them out on the street, at work, and to my friends. I would try to give the ones that were simpler to those who didn’t know the Lord, and others to those who were more familiar with the Word. Little by little, I started getting their e-mail addresses, and now I have about 30 people who receive something regularly.

I often handpick passages for someone if I know they are going through it in some way. Sometimes I might blow it and send something without much prayer, but generally the people have written back thanking me, and saying it was exactly what they needed. It makes me very happy to be used in this way and to be this instrument in the Lord’s hand.

Another thing is that it really feeds me a lot! Sometimes I get convicted by the messages and have to check my heart and get right with the Lord about some of my weaknesses. It’s like when you pour perfume on someone—some always falls on you, too. So I am very thankful for this ministry.

Note from Lucas’s shepherds: Some of the people on Lucas’s e-mail list also come to fellowship and have studies with us. His ministry has helped to keep the sheep fed, as he can do more than we can. We have only heard good responses to his ministry and the messages he chooses to send out. It’s an excellent exercise in prayer and shepherding others for him, a blessing all around.—Catherine, Ana, and Estevão, Brasilia

Who Knows How Far?

By Tommy and Serena, Cambodia

Some months ago we were introduced to a VIP lady who had flown in from another country to be the guest of honor of a grand opening ceremony in Phnom Penh. The friends who were to pick her up at the airport phoned us at the last minute to ask us if we could go in their place because they had car trouble. We went with our little Daewoo van by faith. We didn’t really know who this lady was, but we found out that she was a VIP because everyone was bowing to her!

To make a long story short, we got to meet her a few times while she was here, and when the day of the official ceremony came, we were invited to attend it too. We went to the city where it was being held and happened to be lodged in the same hotel as she was. We got to minister to her quite a bit, talk to her, be her companions, etc.

Later we found out that she is a very wealthy queen in her home country, that she had been asked to become one of the world-ruling members of a famous denomination, and that she was accepting the position! She was very friendly and really liked Tommy’s care and attention. He shared a little about our work in Cambodia and she asked that we stay in touch with her via e-mail.

She went back to her country where she directed some seminars, then to China, then the States, etc. She kept writing us from all these different places and we kept her on our Activated e-mail list, sending her feeding material every week.

One day we asked her to visit our Web site, so she could see some pictures of our recent activities. She did so and afterwards told us that she was very impressed by our work in Cambodia with the underprivileged, saying that if we needed any help to contact her.

We needed a bigger van to help us be more efficient with our CTPs, so we asked her if she wouldn’t mind contributing toward this. She right away sent us a check for US$500. That was a miracle, as we didn’t know her well, but had only met her a few times during the week she visited here.

But that is not all. Since then we have faithfully fed her through the mail once or twice a week, as we do with all our Activated mail ministry sheep. Lately she told us that she was asked to go to various countries to organize seminars for her church, of which she has become one of the 10 leading world members.

One day she thanked us profusely for the material we had sent her and asked us if we had something on a specific subject she was to talk about in her next seminar abroad. We sent her some material via e-mail from our pubs, from Raise ‘em Right, etc., and she flipped over it, so much so that she is now asking us to send her some material for her next seminar too! So our pubs are being preached and shared with the leading members of this denomination, who will go back to the various countries where they come from and share this with their flocks. Praise the Lord! Here is one of her last letters to us:

Dear Tommy and Serena,

Wow! What wonderful teaching on family life you sent me. I just read it and I know that it will be a blessing to many families. Thank you, Tommy and Serena. I am not only impressed but I thank God for knowing you. In Chinese there is a saying, “What you do not know, you do not love.” And another saying, “The longer the road, the more it shows the power of the horse.” For me, both mean the more you are acquainted with someone, the more you know them. And I am so glad to have known you! I had read so much and found nothing satisfying. You should be the ones to lead the seminar. Thank you for your help and willingness to share.

I am also being given the chance to lead another topic that to me is very, very difficult. I have prepared some material from home but I believe your thoughts will add more impact to the talk. This will be ended with workshops to help people practice what has been taught when they go back to their own countries.

Your input will be very highly appreciated.

By the way, my objective is not to show how good I am in presenting the seminar and workshop, but how the audience can benefit from it and help the people on earth by lessening the gap between the rich and the poor.

God bless you, Tommy. May we meet again in the future.

So we worked on a compilation of Word from the Word Basics, the MOP, and other of our pubs. We sent it to her and this was her response:

Dear Tommy,

How can you find all those? You are significant. I am printing it and will use the verses that match the seminar. Please pray that the listeners will bring something back to their home countries and put it into practice.

Thank you for your great contribution. May God bless your family and ministry.

All this is the fruit of Activated! Praise the Lord!

With Tears

By Phoebe, Conectaté Home, Mexico

Ruben and Valerie, our longtime friends and Active members, run a restaurant in our city patronized by the upper class and city fathers. Many confide in them, sharing their problems and asking for their counsel—a golden opportunity to witness.

Over the Christmas period, Ruben and Valerie gave the From Jesus—with Love booklet to 50 of their customers. When they ran out, they picked up 50 more, as well as 50 To Jesus—with Love. The response has been so positive.

They explained to us that they make a bit of a fuss about the gift, encouraging their customers to wait until they are alone or in a private setting with their wife or family members before looking at it. They tell them to open it and expect the Lord to give them the answers to their questions. They have beautiful testimonies of customers coming back and telling them with tears how what they read helped them so much!

Sheep Becomes A Shepherd

By Nate*, China

On a trip to a nearby country, a teen and I followed up on a sheep we had met a year and a half ago. Dear Joy has been saved for a while, and can’t join the Family for different valid reasons; nevertheless the Lord uses her in her capacity according to the Activated vision.

She has a job distributing papers early in the morning, and as usual went to deliver a newspaper to an older man. The man asked her if she could stay with him a little longer, which was unusual. She hesitated and answered, “I have little time to deliver the rest of the newspapers,” but the man insisted. She could sense that maybe she should stay for a little while. Minutes later the man asked her to take him to the hospital. He was very worried, so Joy asked him to pray with her, asking Jesus to help him and heal him.

Later that day the man called her to thank her for praying with him. The doctor told him that it had been a good decision to go immediately to the hospital; otherwise he could have suffered a stroke.

Another lady Joy knows is having long-term marriage problems. Joy took a lot of time listening, as this lady poured out her heart to her. After listening, Joy talked to her about Jesus for about two hours. The lady said, “I really want to know Jesus, but I don’t want to go to the church.” So they agreed that Joy would become her teacher, her link with the Lord.

Now Joy’s son has been saved, all her relatives, and most of her friends know about her decision of turning her faith and convictions towards our dear Husband Jesus.

Their Prayers

Deliverance And Provision

By Seek, Mexico

We have had the wonderful opportunity of working with two people from the same family since the beginning of our Activated program. They have been a great help in the work and have come to almost all of the Bible studies where they seemed to always have some urgent and often very desperate prayer requests. Recently they related the different answers to prayer since they started coming to Bible study, participating in the Activated meetings, and helping with the CTPs.

The mother had serious heart trouble and was taking medicine that had dangerous side effects. We talked with her about exercise and a better diet and had prayer for her. On her own she decided to stop using the medicine, started to exercise and eat well, and hasn’t had any more trouble with her heart since, praise the Lord!

The adult son had kidney stones and was in the hospital twice. The doctor said that he couldn’t pass the stones without an operation, so he asked for prayer. He miraculously passed the stones, changed his diet, and also hasn’t had any more problems!

They were having serious financial problems and it looked like they weren’t going to be able to sell their business before they moved to another city. We had desperate prayer for that as well, and later found out that their business was sold and they found a new house in the other city in three days!

Spiritual Rags to Spiritual Riches

By Estevão, Ana, and Catherine, Brazil

M. and her husband were quite poor. They lived in a one-room shack, sleeping on the floor. But as it happened, they began to have opportunities and to make money. Little by little they began climbing up in society, doing better and better. But at the same time, M. was starting to lie and deceive people for money, gain, and success. She got numb to the convictions of the Lord in her life and didn’t care what was the honest thing to do or not, as long as it brought in money.

M. was working for someone who was literally robbing people.—And then something happened. He got caught and she herself ended up with five criminal counts against her. When she found out that she could easily go to jail, she went into a complete depression, crying piteously for 24 hours straight. Thank the Lord, she cried out to Him, asking for forgiveness for going astray, for letting her guard down, and for creating a humiliating situation for her and her family.

Their name and reputation were completely ruined. They had to leave the city and that’s when we met them, here in Brasilia. Her brother is an Active member, and he and his wife immediately brought her to us for prayer and counsel. She started studying, praying, and claiming the mercy of the Lord in her life. She confessed her sins to us and started putting the Lord first.

Finally, she had to go back to her old city to face the music. When she returned, she had marvelous news! She had been exonerated completely of three of the charges, and if she is even convicted of the other two, there will only be a requirement of a certain amount of social service. Her lawyer was flabbergasted that she got completely off the hook!

She is really praising the Lord and witnessing wherever she goes. And she can’t stop thanking the Family for showing her the right way and the mercy of the Lord. He never fails one of His children.

In China

Sweet Salvation

By Marissa and Nate, China

We met a couple who are from another part of China. They both worked in banks before, but he is now freelancing and deals on the stock exchange. When she decided to have a second child (unusual here), she lost her job at the bank as a result.

They got saved at our Christmas party, and then invited us out to dinner on Christmas Day. She now teaches English at a vocational school and told me that she had read the “Christmas Prayer” to her class that morning, explaining salvation to them. She has a big vacuum, and often asks deep questions about prayer, faith, God’s protection, etc. We are so happy to know them! She is also teaching me (Marissa) Chinese!

Our “Adopted” Chinese Daughters

By Daisy, Mara and Walt, China

Here are excerpts of a letter that Veronica, our closest friend, wrote to us.

Dear Walt and Mara,

First I want to thank Jesus very much. I want Him to help me to finish this letter to you in English. I love Him very much, so He will help me finish it with success and beauty.

Second, I want you, my dearest Walt and Mara, to know that I love you so much that I can’t express it in words. Sometimes I’d rather do more than say more. I really like the verse: “Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue, but with actions and in truth” (I John 3:18).

(Next she gave a detailed description of her life. She told how her mom suffered ill health since the birth of her younger brother because of an unsuccessful operation. Her younger brother, who was a good student, had to quit his education to get a job to support Veronica so she could finish her studies. This broke her heart and she feels very indebted to him. She came to this city because somebody offered her a good job, telling her that if she invested all her savings—more than US$1,000, a lot of money here in China—she could make quick money. She lost all this money and ended up jobless, with not a penny in her pocket, and had to work at odd jobs here and there. That’s when she met us, along with a Chinese sister who was here at the time. Her letter continues:)

I also know that you truly love me. Everything has changed since I met you. I know that I need help and that I can’t save myself. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that His love can cleanse me from all fear and hate. I believe the light of Jesus can drive away my darkness, give me peace and calm my troubled mind. I opened the door of my heart to Jesus and He has come in. I believe He has given me His gift of eternal life.

Thank You, Jesus, for suffering for all the wrong things I’ve done and for forgiving me, and hearing and answering my prayer. Thank you, my dearest Walt and Mara … my second parents.

It is especially touching for us that she calls us her second parents, as often that’s exactly how we feel. We don’t have our children with us here, so it’s a special token of the Lord’s love to have these girls, Veronica and her sister Beth, as our second daughters.

More Changes in the Heart

By Walt, China

Here are a few more stories that show what our sheep are like.

We lent Veronica our only GP Daily Might and told her that we were so sorry, but we could only lend it to her for a few weeks as we only had one copy. Next thing we knew she had copied one or more pages every evening into a special notebook bought entirely for this purpose.

Since we emphasized to her the importance of getting in the Word, she reads, memorizes and prays every morning. Furthermore, she started to teach the Word to her sister Beth. Beth is very respectful when it comes to the Word and the Lord; she thrives on love and praise.

Veronica also started to witness to some of her workmates and can’t understand why anybody would refuse God’s love. Both of these girls have stayed overnight with us a few times, and that has given us an opportunity to have devotions and prayer with them before they go to work in the morning. Having them around has helped us to be on our toes as shepherds and samples.

Here is a very touching note that these girls wrote to Mara for her birthday:

To our dear Mara,

On this special day, please accept our congratulations from the bottom of our hearts. The heart remembers all those precious moments when a mother’s special love made all the difference. … We understand the meaning of love because of your kindness and care. Dear Mara, we love you forever,

Your Chinese daughters, Veronica and Beth.

Nancy, whom we have met regularly for more than three months now, is so excited to be able to witness. She tells us how she keeps her eyes open for any opportunities to be a tool in His hands to spread the Word. She was instrumental in helping Jill (a lady with marriage problems) to get saved. It has been so inspiring to see Nancy read to Jill and explain things to her. She’s such a potential labor leader and shepherd that we want to ask you to please pray that she reaches her full potential with His help. Jill told us that since she received Jesus she is so much happier.

Here is news from Cedric: He got saved over a lunch recently and when we met him again, he said that he likes Christianity because it keeps your heart pure, as you go and confess your sins. He explained that this practice doesn’t exist in Buddhism, and that all you do is hope for a blessing by going to the temple.

Georgina, one of our neighbors, is so busy working and studying that the only time she has had for us is during her lunch break. As we sat there over a restaurant meal she said, “Before I go, let’s pray together.” Although it was a little risky praying right there, we did it for her sake and it meant a lot to her.

A dear couple invited us to a special dinner, just because they wanted to show us their appreciation for introducing them to Jesus. They affirmed continually how Jesus keeps answering their prayers and they are both quite flipped out about it and Him.

Sally is such a sweet sheep. She told us very sincerely that she loves Jesus very much, but that she also still adheres to her Buddhist traditions. She asked: “What shall I do?”

“Well,” we said, “why don’t you learn as much as you can about Jesus, and then down the road you may be in a better position to make a choice.” She comes over every week for a two- to three-hour class and we can feel the deep spiritual hunger that is there, but also the very real struggle with her former beliefs. Please pray that Jesus’ light will shine very brightly on her and open her eyes to the truth. When praying about her our sweet Husband said that she is a jewel deeply imbedded in a rock, and that it will take more work than with others to set her free.

Another opportunity opened when we were invited to an evening with an old professor and his English class of young ladies. We first had a hearty dinner after which these ladies dressed up and did a live fashion show for us—right in front of us and just for us, with lighting, music, steps, and everything. It left us almost breathless! I, Walt, got to sing a few songs, including the prayer of St. Francis to which I gave a short introduction. Later some of the girls told me that that song really touched their hearts.

Then everybody started to dance. Talk about bottle breaking—I hadn’t danced in years and I have two left feet when it comes to dancing! But here were these 20 Chinese girls, all dying to dance with a foreigner! Finally I just let go, enjoyed myself, laughed a lot, and we all had a good time together.

Family in Flesh and Spirit

Prayers All These Years

By Daniel Victory (of Angela), Romania

After six-and-a-half years in Romania, the Lord opened the door for my wife Angela, our children, Angela’s sister, and me to go to Peru to visit my family. The day after we arrived, my oldest sister Nancy came to visit us. She was the “black sheep” in my System family. She was worldly, had a bad mouth, got into many things, had a child as a single mother in her teen years, etc.

All these years I prayed for her, as well as for all my other brothers and sisters. As soon as we saw each other, Nancy told me how God had worked in her life and changed her. Her husband got very sick two years ago, so sick that he was bedridden, and the doctors couldn’t find out what he had. His back was completely paralyzed so he couldn’t move anymore. Then the Lord had them meet a Christian man who witnessed to him. Her husband got saved and healed! So he started going to the church and changed completely.

This miracle changed my sister too, who is now converted, attending the church and serving the Lord as she knows best. She thanked me for my prayers all these years, and told me, “When you left 25 years ago to serve the Lord, I couldn’t understand how you could leave your family, school, and everything. But now I understand and I know that you chose the best. Now I know that when the Lord calls you, you have to leave everything behind, follow Him, and preach the Word. This is my goal in life now too—to live for Jesus and preach the Word. “

I could hardly believe that I was hearing these words, especially from her! And to see such a change in her! All she did was talk about the Lord, praising Him all the time and quoting verses. I was so happy that she found the Lord, peace, and love in Him. Not one prayer is lost, but all are answered in His time!

A Jewish Mom

By John and Ruby, Hungary

While we were visiting in Canada with John’s mom, who is a Hungarian Jew, she happened to notice the Hungarian Treasures we had. She asked if she could have it. We told her we had planned to give it to someone else, and this made her all the more determined to have it! She kept asking us for it.

After meeting the person the Treasures was designated for, we realized her English was better than her Hungarian, so we gave her an English edition. Then we were able to give the Hungarian one to John’s mom, and she seemed thankful for it.

Through the years she has been quite skeptical, being Jewish, and has usually mocked the literature we’ve sent her. After we were back on the field for a month, one day she called. She said that she had been reading some of the Treasures, had lent it to a few friends, and her friends had raved about it. She said, “This must be a great book! I’d like to have some more of them for Christmas gifts,” and she asked us to send her some more of them. After another month she called again, wanting even more! The reaction of her friends has given her hunger for the Word, so she is reading it, and enjoying it! What a miracle!

Renewed!

By Sara, Ghana

In the fall of 2000, my mum and sister travelled all the way from Spain to visit us in Accra. As the day of their arrival approached, I was a bit worried.

During the five years that I’ve been in the CM Family, my relatives have gone through different stages in their attitude towards the path I’ve chosen for my life, ranging from really worrying and talking in depth with anti-cult authorities, to wanting legal custody over my only son, and then to accepting God’s calling for me. I knew that this visit would be important for their peace of mind and also to help them grow closer to the Lord. And He did it!

They spent three weeks in our crazy Home, adapted well to our austere house, and tried to contribute as much as they possibly could—cooking, cleaning up, helping in our ministries, and sewing some beautiful curtains. When they left, they wrote us the following note:

Thanks for everything. We really feel at home with you. We can breathe peace and calmness. You are all good people, generous and responsible.

But that’s not all. Over the following weeks they kept writing via e-mail. In her last message Mum wrote:

I feel completely renewed. This trip has made me think a lot. I admire your faith and strength. ... I will never forget these days with you. I too now feel that I’ve got to help others and do my best in life. I feel closer to the Lord now, which is just what I needed to be a blessing to those around me. Please pray that I can use all this to help in my own small way.

Louder than Words

By Priscila (of Francesco), Moldova

While we were traveling visiting relatives and friends, we came down with sicknesses one after another, especially our little one, Emanuel, and me. Thus our trip extended to two months and we ended up spending more time with our flesh family than we had originally intended.

It was discouraging, as I had had so many plans for the summer. I wanted to go witnessing in so many places with my little one, especially because the weather is so tough during the winter that I usually can’t take him along.

Well, the things my sister told me the day before we were to return to Moldova helped me to see things more as the Lord sees them, which was a comfort to me. After I had joined the Family she became bitter against our group, since I hadn’t finished my education and in her eyes I missed my chance for a career once and for all. I couldn’t win her back. She was horrible whenever she met one of our Family members, and would even try to put a stop to their witnessing when she met one of the brethren witnessing in town.

But before I left, she told me how relaxing it had been for her just to be around me and to watch the way that I was operating; the way that I was interacting with the children (mine and hers); the way I was cooking; the way I was talking, thanking the Lord for difficult things; the way I was saying good things about people that we both knew weren’t very nice to be around. She said that she was going through depression in her life, but that just being around me cured that, because of the way I was reacting.

She wanted to know if this kind of behavior was a requirement in our Family or if this was just the way I had become of late. This gave me the opportunity to explain the Lord’s Spirit, and also to share more about our convictions and way of life.

On two occasions when we were cooking together, her husband told me things that I was doing wrong, which I was thankful for, even verbally. Well, he was amazed that I didn’t get offended that I was told what to do. Another interesting thing is that she was impressed with the way I was disciplining Emanuel. She said that because I first warn him, and then punish him if he disobeys my warning, I manage to keep peaceful and not scream at him. She said this is reflected in his behavior and helps him be more relaxed with me and with others. Normally she would choose to just ignore her little boy’s misbehavior.

This was something that I had been concerned about before leaving on this trip, as I didn’t know how my relatives would view my discipline of my child, but of course, I didn’t want to compromise my convictions either. Even that was a witness.

My sister and her husband were having some trouble with another young couple they are living with, so she asked me quite a few times how we manage to live together with so many people and still get along. I was able to witness to her about this, using the Word and also practical tips. Obviously she was now impressed with our way of life.

At one point, when we were discussing the same matter, her husband said to her, “You can’t compare them with us! They left behind the selfishness and the ambitions that we still have!”

When we left, my sister’s husband took us to the train station to help us with our luggage and things. When we arrived back home, we called to thank them. Her husband replied: “Please don’t thank us! It will be a long time before we can pay you back for everything that you did for us!” He was also referring to baby things that we gave them that had been Emanuel’s.

As I said in the beginning, I had wanted to be out doing many things that would “last,” but instead the Lord worked it out for me to win my flesh family, to make them my friends again, and to win their confidence and respect for the Family. The very rewarding part of it is that I saw the results: a couple’s life changed by our sample. I really didn’t feel that the way I reacted to things was so different from that of the world, and that it could actually be such a powerful witness, but He did it through me.

In boxes:

You must pray for disciples for I intend to bring new disciples to you—those who want to serve Me in whatever capacity they can. Most of these disciples will not drop out and serve Me full time, but they will be disciples nonetheless. They will help open doors that you could never enter. They will be believers, followers, disciples, helpers, supporters. ... You will have the help that you need by teaching, training, and feeding those who will become your flocks, helpers, and co-workers (ML #3308:28-29, GN908).

And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of Heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in Heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in Heaven (Matthew 16:19).

You cannot at this moment see the outstanding brilliance and magnificence of the mighty explosion that you are igniting, but I see. The repercussions of your efforts are going to explode, and this will create a tremendous force that will be felt not only around the world, but into eternity (ML #3385:56).

You stand on the threshold, My loves, on the brink of a tremendous explosion. It will come, and you are even now at the door. Therefore I ask you to keep moving forward, keep taking the plunge, keep launching out into the deep, wide ocean that lies before you (ML #3385:58).

I thank you, My loves, for your willingness to make it [the Activated program] happen. I thank you for doing your part, for obeying My call, for being willing to learn how, for receiving from one another, for uniting in prayer, for resisting the Enemy, and for marching on to claim the land. This display of your willingness and your obedience, this demonstration that you are willing to put your time, your effort, your talents, and your skills to work in order to bring this great commission to fruition is what I will bless (ML #3385:55).

Thank you, My brave pioneers, for standing up! Thank you for being My voice. This is going to be your finest hour! You’ll never be sorry you answered the Activated call! You’ll never be sorry you joined in on the beachhead attack in this great blitz that will rock the planet. The echo of what you do today will be heard around the world. Your time, your effort, your energy, your sacrifice—nothing you put into this great push forward will be wasted, not one iota! Everything you spend will live on forever (ML #3385:69-70).

Never forgotten

By Leila, Ester, and Felipe, Brazil

On our way to Rio, we met the manager of a restaurant who helped us with lunch. He told us a very interesting story about how he knew of our work when he was in Porto Alegre. A couple with a baby came into his restaurant there, asking him to help them with a meal. He was very impressed with the baby and really liked the family a lot. He even stayed with the baby the whole time, loved it so much, and actually cried when they left. So did the baby, whose name was Jason.

At that time, he and his wife didn’t have any children. Later on his wife got pregnant, had a boy and they named him Jason after that little baby. He said he never forgot that couple and the poster they gave him, which to this day he has hanging on his wall in a frame.

To kill or not to kill

By Sam and Crystal, India

One of our close friends is a police official in the city, and he’s been given the assignment of tracking down an infamous criminal who has killed many people and continues to cause trouble in the country. This friend receives thousands of rupees weekly to get this criminal, and to kill him, if necessary.

When we visited our friend for fellowship, he shared something quite inspiring. He said that previously he had always wanted to get this criminal—kill him or bring justice for all he’s done to harm others. He said his prayer now is that this man will find Jesus, and that he will be sorry for his crimes, and then he will be able to see him in Heaven.

For this man who has had a life of continually seeing crime and fighting against it, this was a beautiful example of forgiveness and love for others.
