GOING DOWN THE ROAD
Author(s): Singing Sam, Apollos

KeyWords: Endtime,

I was going down the road
Looking for a way to travel,
Asking questions
Of everybody I'd see,
Asking questions of people
Who didn't know the answers,
Tossed like a ship
On a troubled sea.

I looked around and saw people
Hating each other,
They said climbing up the ladder
Of success is what to do.
But they didn't know what to say
When they ran into trouble,
All their money and success
Just could not pull them through.

They're making modern weapons
That they say are to protect us,
But if they ever use them
They'll blow the World apart.
I kept looking for a way
To stop all of their fighting,
To bring peace to the World
And peace to my own heart.

Well, I'd crammed my head with knowledge
From many books and teachers,
So many facts and figures
Had cluttered up my mind.
But deep down inside me
My life was still so empty,
I knew there had to be an answer
Somewhere that I could find.

I found that happiness is not
A big pile of money,
A new car, a pretty girl
Or a fancy diamond ring.
I needed something that's for real
That an atom bomb couldn't bother,
Something inside me
That could -set me free.

One day I finally realized
That the answer I was seeking,
Was more than this World
Could ever offer any man.
So I opened up my heart
And I asked the Lord to come in,
And that was the day
A whole new life for me began.

I hear lots of people talking,
They all say they know the answers,
But if they know what they're doing
Why are they so afraid to die?
Now the only thing that I can tell you
That ever made me happy,
Was when I came to Jesus
And He gave me peace of mind.
Yes, the only thing that I can say
That ever made me happy
Was when I came to Jesus
And He eased my troubled mind.
