THE SEARCH

Travellin' a lonesome highway
The miles go by so slow.
And you don't know where you're headed
But you know you've got to go.
And you don't want to walk alone,
But you're seekin' a better home.
Oh Lord, how long will the Search go on?

Life is a lonely highway
With no reason to travel on.
When you been lookin' for the sunshine
For such a long time,
But you never see the day dawn.
And you're still lookin' for the day
When you will clearly see the way.
Oh Lord, how long will the Search go on?

Wise men and poor men
Struggle down that highway
And the rich men ride on by.
But the children of hunger will have a happy home
And the rich men are all gonna cry.

So as time falls to the ground,
We must get home before the sun goes down.
Oh Lord, my God, the Search is on.
