MOUNTAIN LADY
Author(s): Micah
Songbook: Aaron David Songbook
KeyWords: David,
Many lonely years of the past
Now are gone and are better left behind.
In the hills 'neath the vale of the mountain
But now and then in the hills the sun would shine.
And it shone on me and I tasted
The warmth that covered the mountain
And it was there that I met a Lady
With the grace of the high windy peak.
And I knew from her voice her heart was broken,
The price of a life of being free.
So we sat 'neath a tree there together
And we talked of the way life had run.
As for me I had gambled on daydreams
Never seein' the light of the sun
And I knew she had cried,
From the ways we had tried to hide
From the sunshine.
And I felt in her heart the compassion
As she sat there and listened to me
That she knew from the words I was saying
That my heart was crying to be free
Then slowly she told me a story
Of a man from the mountain where she lived.
Who had taught all the people of freedom
And had died to teach them how to live
And his words were the sunlight -
And his love was the warmth
That fell around us.
So that day I left for the mountains
To learn how to set my brothers free.
And we'll climb up the mountain together
With the truth, the mountain lady, and me.
