CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

         Four areas of vocational certification are presently available in the Home Economics Department of the CVC program:
         1. GENERAL HOME ECONOMICS
         2. COOKING AND FOOD SERVICES
         3. DOMESTIC AND PERSONAL SERVICES
         4. SEWING AND NEEDLEWORK

         The basic course and experience requirements for certification in these areas are listed below. Credit evaluation for each course is indicated in brackets after the course.

1. GENERAL HOME ECONOMICS: 20 credits

Foundation requirements: 16 credits
         HME FS-01 Diet, Nutrition and Meals [2]
         HME FS-02 General Kitchen Management and Cooking [2]
         HME FS-03 Food Purchasing [2]
         HME FS-04 Menu Planning and Food Preparation [2]
         HME FS-05 Kitchen Cleanliness and Safety [2]
         HME DM-01 Domestic Skills [3]
         HME SW-01 Sewing Skills [3]

2. COOKING AND FOOD SERVICES: 20 credits
