PRAYER LIST 23
DO January 1995
(c) January 1995, Home Services, Zurich, Switzerland

"Trust in Him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before Him:
God is a refuge for us. Selah" (Psa.62:8).
(Please use this list with PL 20, the last long-term list. Thank you!)

For 14 years and up. Although JETTs are not permitted to read the Prayer Lists on their own, you may read it with them during Word time, or share prayer requests with them when having prayer vigil. Selected prayer requests, answers to prayer and testimonies of answered prayer may be read to younger age groups as well, at your discretion. Please be prayerful and use wisdom in what you share with JETTs or children. Be sure to present prayer requests in a positive spirit, explain things and answer any questions they may have.

GOD BLESS YOU! We hope these Prayer Lists are a help and blessing to you! It's wonderful to see the Lord answer prayer as we call out to Him--and even if we don't get the answer right away, it still brings forth lots of fruit in teaching us perseverance and faith in our prayer life, as well as many other lessons.--So keep holding on, even if the answer doesn't come immediately! "Be careful [full of care or worry] for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus" (Phil.4:6-7). Praise the Lord! We love you!

ANSWERED PRAYERS

(Some of the answered prayers listed below were not mentioned as prayer requests in past Prayer Lists, but were prayed for locally. We've included them here for your encouragement, and to glorify the Lord for His marvelous faithfulness in answering prayer!)

Mama and WS Leadership:

1. A very important and monumental project that Mama and her teamwork have been working on, together with WS and the CROs, is in the final stages, and should be in the hands of the Family by the Family Birthday, D.V.! The Lord miraculously anointed all those working on this big and detailed task, directing their discussions and giving His solutions to the many questions that arose during the work on this project.

Worldwide:

2. The news of Dad's homegoing was widely published worldwide, resulting in a great witness to many! Many heart-touching responses to Dad's passing were received from friends, academics and the general public, not to speak of the tremendous impact that his graduation had on the Family--bringing us all a step closer to Heaven, encouraging us to "set our affection on things above, and not on things on the earth" (Col.3:2), and challenging us to give our all to fulfill the Great Commission here on earth before Jesus' return, praise the Lord!

3. Treasure Attic #5 and #6, and the Family Outreach video #2 were completed!

4. A new DFO tape, "My Heart ... Your Home", was also completed.

5. A respected American psychiatrist has written a powerful rebuttal methodically discrediting a very slanderous report written against the Family by an ACM psychologist, which our enemies were going to try to use against us in the Melbourne court case (and probably future cases as well).

North America:
         6. Jesse David (10 months, of James and Flower): Healed of hernia in testicles without need for an operation.

16. New housing supplied in Washington, D.C. (PL 20:87).

South America:

17. Brazil court cases: The Lord is doing miracles in two court cases involving a couple of our Homes in Brazil, and is hindering a district attorney's attempts to force our Homes to put their children in public schools. A court-appointed official who visited the Home was very impressed with the schooling of our children and stated in a written report that our Homes are not only free of wrongdoing, but are role models! In answer to prayer, the Lord is raising up friends who are standing up for the Family and helping us win these cases.

18. The media storm in Chile (PL 22:104) has "passed over", without developing into any serious persecution or harassment of the Family or Family Homes, thank the Lord!

19. Pablito (2, of Josue and Maggie) (PL 15:51): On Christmas Eve, Pablito was peacefully delivered from his weak chassis as he went to join Jesus, Dad and the heavenly host! Pablito was born with a faulty heart, and despite several operations he remained very weak during his two years on earth. God bless dear Josue and Maggie, who took his parting victoriously. Please pray for their continued comfort and encouragement. Two months before Pablito's graduation, the Lord blessed Josue and Maggie with another special gift from Him--a beautiful baby girl, praise the Lord!

20. Teams attending a fair (PL 22:108) in one country were able to get out about 200 Videos and many Tapes and Posters during their first week of witnessing there.

25. Daniel (newborn, of Chris and Rebeca): Healed of strong stomach colic and dark spots on his tummy.

Europe:

26. The Lord has turned the tables on a wave of negative publicity in England following a smear campaign by a major tabloid. The end result has been a fair amount of good media coverage, with a good witness, thank the Lord! Our BI media team was able to give a number of powerful interviews and host a successful press conference, resulting in good TV, radio and newspaper coverage. They've also received many good responses from the GP as a result of even the negative media publicity, affirming their support for the Family and commending us for standing up for what we believe in.

27. A visit by primary and secondary school educational authorities to the Media Home in England went well, and the authorities were impressed by our children's schooling.

Pacific:

28. The Lord has done many miracles in providing materials, equipment and locations for the IVM's filming of the Endtime Music Video.

37. Renee's graduation! In answer to your prayers, Renee has been beautifully delivered from her suffering from cancer, and is now renewed and happy and healthy in Heaven, thank the Lord! Following are excerpts of a report from Renee's shepherds:
Tim and Renee (formerly Aquila and Priscilla) had been together ever since they were young teens, and joined the Family mated, nearly 25 years ago. They have four children, Dove (21), Michelle (20), Mark (18) and Lily (16).
Just a little after Christmas we heard that Renee wasn't able to eat much and she wasn't doing so well physically. It looked like she would go to be with the Lord very soon. Miraculously, however, she started getting a bit better and really fought to hang on until she saw her parents, who had been planning to visit her from the U.S. Her parents hadn't been able to book a flight until January, so the Lord miraculously delayed her homegoing until they were able to come, so that it could be a testimony to them, praise the Lord. Renee's parents had been visiting the Home for the past week, and they were able to spend some sweet time with Renee, as well as with Tim and Renee's children and the Home.
In the second week of January, Renee's physical condition continued to worsen to where she stopped taking in any food and then fell unconscious. After we had prayed together for her release, she stopped breathing and peacefully passed away, her children at her side. The Home had been praying throughout the morning, and several people later testified that they felt this was probably her time to go. Some had even seen visions of her holding her grandchild (her son's mate had just had a miscarriage a couple of days earlier, she had been about three months pregnant)!
Although it was initially sad for Tim and her children, they began singing hymns and songs and reading Scriptures and passages from
Streams in the Desert with Renee's parents, who joined them in Renee's room after she had passed away. It was a beautiful testimony! Her parents, who are saved Christians, exclaimed that they had never seen anything as beautiful as this. They shared how impressed they were with everyone's attitude, everyone's fighting and believing spirit, and how much faith we all had, particularly Tim and Renee's children, who had so lovingly taken care of their mother, and who were there as she breathed her last breath. Her parents said that "people back home" would not believe what they had just witnessed, how happy and praiseful and full of faith everybody was. Renee's mother said, "This is how dying should be. This is how everybody should act!" Praise the Lord!
It was beautiful to see how the Lord had been working and preparing them for this, and how the Lord had given Renee time to see her parents once more before passing away. She had all of her children there with her in the Home and they had actually been caring for her (along with others in the Home). Different ones in the Home shared how they recognized God's hand in their lives by having Renee live with them during her final months of sickness, and how it had taught them precious lessons of love, similar to those brought out in "Libby's Homegoing" (GN 603).
We spent a praiseful evening with the Home, singing songs and reading excerpts from "Dad's Homegoing" GNs, which were a perfect preparation and sample to follow. We took time to hear from the Lord, to ask if He had anything to leave with us, or anything He wanted the Home to benefit from at this time of Renee's graduation. The Lord spoke beautifully--there was a lot about His love, and that He had put Renee there to teach us all more about love and more about caring for each other. It was very instructional, and something we all can benefit from, praise the Lord! (End of report from Renee's shepherds.)

Following are some of the prophecies a Home near Renee's received while praying for Renee on Christmas day, several weeks
before her homegoing:

For the path of the just is as a shining light, that shineth more and more until the perfect day. For as thou dost trust and look to Me, so shall I change thee more and more into My light. And as thou hast been an encouragement and a help and a shining light to many already, so shalt thou continue, by the testimony which I have given thee to be an encouragement and a help and a light to them. For yea, I am the light of the world. He that believeth on Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall shine with My light.
v
For behold, how I have loved this little one. How I have given her My love and My comfort and My peace. For she hath been through much and she hath suffered many things and passed through many fiery trials. But these trials are very precious unto Me; they are more precious than gold, yea, than much fine gold. For she hath kept the faith and hath been faithful unto Me. This means much to Me, for she hath loved much. Therefore I love her much and I will keep her and bless her and envelop her with My warmth and My comfort and My counsel. And My Word will be very nigh unto her heart. Therefore fear not, for I am with her.
v
These are the Words of love that I have for My handmaiden. For she hath done what she could. I have seen her tears and I have heard her prayers, and I have felt the pain of her heart, and I have taken it and cherished it, and it has come unto Me as a sweet smelling savor. And I have heard her prayers and I will deliver her, and she shall enter into the joy of her Lord.
v
"I heard a voice from Heaven saying unto me, Write, blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them" (Revelation 14:13).
         (End of prophecies.)

Parents and Children

53. For unity, wisdom and the Lord's leading as our Homes seek Him for His answers on how to organize their time, schedules and personnel so as to be able to give our children the training that they need in the four major areas of their education: Word, witnessing, scholastics and vocational training.

54. That our young people who are in childcare will keep the vision of what an important calling it is, and won't compare themselves negatively with other teens who may have more "showy" ministries.

55. For our teens who have left the Family: That the Lord will be with and provide for them; that we can continue to show them the Lord's and our love for them, and that they will use the good training they've received in the Family to continue witnessing and being a sample of the Lord's Love to those they come in contact with. That the Lord will bring back those whom He wants in His full-time service; easy adjustment and good spiritual progress for those who are returning, that we can give them the love, care and help they need.

Outreach and Follow-up

63. That throughout this year, the Lord will help us to fulfill Mama's Christmas message and Dad and the Lord's commission to us all--adults and young people alike--to witness and pour out like never before, reaching the needy with the Gospel and filling their hearts with God's Love.

64. Continued progress in providing our teens and JETTs with fulfilling and exciting witnessing opportunities and ministries. That our young people will be excited and inspired about witnessing, with an increased love for the lost, and will make good progress in their witnessing training. That our adults will set a good example in this area.

65. That each of our Homes will be able to establish solid, fruitful and long-lasting ministries in their cities, such as "Consider the Poor" ministries, well-organized follow-up ministries, youth outreach, etc. For the faith and patience to stick to the outreach ministries to which they feel called or which the Lord has opened up for them.

Persecution and Media

72. That a book about the Family by leading academics, which has been completed, will be published in early `95; against any further delays and setbacks to the final stages of its printing and distribution. Also for any other books about us that are in the works in the U.S. or elsewhere; that they will be an accurate portrayal of our beliefs and lifestyle, and effectively counteract the slanderous literature about the Family by our enemies. For wide distribution of these positive books.

Court Cases

73. England:

For a positive, righteous verdict in favor of Pearl, allowing Sammy to remain with her. We've been informed that the judge is currently working on the verdict, but it may not be finalized and released for a couple of months. That the judge will be receptive to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and have the conviction to give a fair and just verdict based on the facts and not on the fabrications and distortions of our detractors. That he will be persuaded that the Family is a safe place to raise a child, and allow Sammy to stay with Pearl in the Family.

That the Lord will strengthen Pearl and little Sammy. Pearl has asked for prayer that she and Sammy will be prepared mentally and spiritually for whatever is ahead.

74. Argentina:
        That the
appeal lodged by the District Attorney (in collaboration with Marquevich and other opponents) will be rejected by the Supreme Court. That the favorable ruling by the Court of Appeals exonerating the Family will be upheld and the whole case against us will be laid to rest.
        For
a favorable report by the Attorney General to the Supreme Court on our case, as this report could determine whether or not the appeal by the District Attorney against us is even reviewed by the Supreme Court.
        That the
parliamentary hearing which is investigating Marquevich's actions will result in his impeachment.
        For our
close friends, lawyers and contacts who have stood with us through this persecution. That we can continue to minister to and feed them.
        For our
lawsuits against Baamonde, Rebollo and other adversaries; for continued media exposure of our adversaries' evil activities--that it will damage their ability to fight us.
        For
our main lawyer, who has helped us win our case and is presently working hard at pushing our civil suits through the courts.

75. France:
        For the
criminal case to be closed completely and speedily. It should be, as there is no evidence of wrongdoing on our part.

Our lawyers: Conviction, perseverance, anointing and good communication with us.

Continued supply of funds needed for our defense.

76. Australia:
        Our
civil suits against Social Services (DOCS) in Sydney: For a speedy settlement in our favor; for our lawyer's strength, wisdom and health, as he is working very hard on the civil suits. For funding needed to push these cases through.
        That a
proposal to the New South Wales Parliament requesting an official inquiry into the raids on the Homes two years ago will have the desired effect and result in such an inquiry being initiated.

That it will be successful in providing teens who are coming back to the Family with good training and shepherding before they move on to other DO Homes.

78. That the examination and evaluation of the children in one of our Homes by a team of fair-minded psychiatrists and experts the Family has been in contact with will result in an objective and positive report that will help counter and repudiate our enemies' allegations about our children's care and well-being.

79. That a very slanderous book that a backslider has written against the Family will not be published, or if it is, that it will have little distribution or impact on the public.

80. Mexico: For political and economic stability, as the dramatic devaluation of the peso has caused some hardships for our Homes there. Also that strict anti-NRM laws that would hinder our Family's outreach there will not be enacted.
         81. Mercy (of Andrew): Tests have shown that she could possibly have an early stage of cancer. For a proper diagnosis of her condition, as it's still in the testing stages, and for miraculous healing if she does have cancer.

         129. Against a wave of negative publicity in Belgium and Germany. For the anointing of our media teams there; that our rebuttals will be printed and result in a good witness. That our dialogue with our detractors will bear good fruit. Also, that an anti-NRM law that is pending before the Belgian congress will not be passed.

Continued protection of our Family in Poland as an investigation into the Family there continues, with the department of education issuing a notice to all high schools forbidding any contact with the Family. For strength and wisdom for our Polish media team, and for our outside friends who are standing up for us.

REACTIONS TO THE PRAYER LISTS!

From Paula (Faithy):
(Editor's Note: The following is an excerpt from a report from Paula about a recent visit she made to Mother Eve [who is in her 70s], after Mother Eve had had an accident during which she broke her hip and was hospitalized for some time [see PL 21:156]. Although it's not an actual reaction to the Prayer List or testimony of answered prayer, we felt that it contained a beautiful lesson on afflictions that we can all benefit from.)
It was real touching when Mother started to tell us about when she first broke her hip. She thought she had just dislocated it by falling off a porch, so she had them just put her in the Ark [motor home], so she wouldn't be in everyone's way; and she was having everyone pull on it to try to get it back in place, and here it was a broken hip! When she finally went to the doctor, he said, "How could you withstand such pain for five days?!" Her condition was quite serious and the doctors operated right away, which went well, thank the Lord.
She said she actually has no tolerance for pain at all, and when she first broke her hip, she thought she couldn't handle it. But then she thought about all the Christians in China, and the torture and imprisonment they go through. She'd heard so much about the pain that they were suffering, but up until that point she'd never really been able to have compassion on them or understand what their pain was. But she said that when she was lying there in so much pain in the Ark, that she wept and wept, because she realized that she hadn't prayed enough for all these Christians in China who were suffering so much pain.
She said that she had been quite self-righteous; she had never taken medicine or aspirin or gone to the hospital for anything. She hadn't really been sick for many years, and suddenly here she was in a full-scale operation. It was really hard for her to understand why it was all happening, but it broke her heart for other people who suffer, and people who have operations. She said that for the first time, she understood what it was like to suffer these things; it gave her so much more love and compassion for people. She realized that this was why the Lord made her learn about pain, so that she could understand other people's pain and be willing to pray more for them. It was very touching; she was crying, I was crying. It was a very sweet confession and lesson.

TESTIMONIES OF ANSWERED PRAYER!

From Sandy (Tekoa, of Phil), North America:
For the last couple of years I had been having increasingly strong pains in my uterus, accompanied with sporadic spotting. We recently went to a gynecologist to find out what the problem was so that we could send in a specific request to the worldwide Prayer List.
When we first visited the doctor, she did an internal exam to see if she could feel a growth. She said she definitely felt a large growth right in the spot that was so painful. She said she needed to do some intensive tests to see if the growth was malignant or not. We were concerned and desperate in prayer.
We had several tests done and were awaiting the results when one day the pain got so intense I couldn't do anything. My Home shepherds laid hands on my womb, anointing me with oil, claiming His Word in prayer. Since then, the pains are almost gone! We went back to the doctor and she can't find the growth anymore! The ultrasound shows that it's completely gone and all test results are negative! The Lord answered prayer even before we could send in the request, so we wanted to testify of His healing touch! Thank You Jesus!
v
From Esther, Elise and David, South America:
Right after we had a special prayer day for finances, the Lord started pouring on His blessings abundantly and miraculously! He supplied $2,000, which we were able to use for some medical expenses, general needs for the Home (food, maintenance and needs for Consuelo's soon-to-arrive baby). We were also able to allot nearly $1,000 to urgent legal paperwork and documents that our Home members had been in need of for several months! What a victory! It pays to pray!
v
From Gideon and Lily, Europe:
Our daughter Esther, who is three years old, had a dream that an angel appeared to her and told her that if she wouldn't scratch her eczema, she would get healed. Since she shared that dream and stopped scratching, her eczema started clearing up almost completely. Each time she is tempted to scratch we remind her of what the angel said. Many thanks to the prayers of our worldwide Family, as she was on the Prayer List.

PRAYER IDEAS!

From Joseph, Paulo Jose and Ana Lua, South America:
We set up a little prayer box in the living room as a prayer aid. It's made of cardboard and is divided in two compartments--one side is open with little prayer request slips that you can pick and pray as you pass by, and the other side has a little slot to put the slip back after you've prayed the request. When all the slips have been prayed for, they go back in the first compartment, and we start again!

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE LONG-TERM PRAYER LIST

As a reminder, we thought it might be helpful to include a brief summary of the main topics covered in the last long-term list (PL 20). Hopefully this will come in handy to jog your memory in praying for these topics in case you're having prayer vigil and PL 20 is not available. If you want, you could even copy down this list of topics to carry and pray for in situations when you can't have the Prayer List with you, such as when out in town or taking public transport, etc. However, this is not meant as a
substitute for PL 20, so please do try to refer to PL 20 for the specifics of each request.
In order to make sure that the prayer requests from the long-term list are not forgotten, you may want to try praying for at least two requests from the long-term list every day, along with the other requests from the regular Prayer Lists. This way, your Home would be praying for all the long-term requests regularly. Thank you for your faithful prayers! God bless you!
