Needed: Input for 1996 Year-end Activity Report!

Dear Family,
We love you and greatly admire your dedication and self-sacrifice in reaching out to others with the Lord's Love. Thank you for sharing news of your witnessing and "consider the poor" projects with the rest of us. Some of those testimonies we have also published for our friends, supporters and the
world in the FAR. In response, we've heard many reports that these testimonies have quite an impact on people who read them -- either in print or via the Family's Web site. Praise the Lord!
We would like to begin publishing
more news of your activities -- beginning with a summary of this year's accomplishments in the Family's 1996 Year-end Activity Report (YEAR) -- but we need your input!

If you would like your Home or ministry represented in the 1996 YEAR, please send your contribution with your November 1st TRF (that is, your TRF covering the month of October, which you normally send during the last week of October).
Here are some tips for writing your news briefs:
         > We expect the '96 YEAR to be similar in format to last year's, and cover the following aspects of our work:

Pioneer news: Countries or regions pioneered or re-pioneered
         Disaster relief
Aid to refugees and victims of war
Helping street children, the homeless and poverty-stricken
         Humanitarian aid projects
Educational projects involving our children's tools, including public broadcasts
Aid to orphanages and children's homes
Other special projects for children or youth
         Seminars for teachers and parents
         Seminars for civic leaders
         Community projects
         Helping the sick and dying
         Helping the handicapped
         Care for the elderly
Programs in prisons and with juvenile delinquents and gangs
         Drug prevention and rehabilitation programs
Academic, governmental and non-governmental organization (NGO) conferences and seminars
Other: Is there a new category you would like to see included this year?

         > Please write a
one- or two-paragraph news brief (summary) of each of your outstanding activities. Be sure to include the big six: who, what, when, where, why and how. (See "Tips on Writing for the Family - and the World!" in FSM 299 for specifics on how to write complete yet concise news reports.)
         > If you have already written articles for your Home or area newsletters which include general descriptions or specific testimonies related to one or more of your outreach activities, perhaps these can be the basis of your news briefs; simply round them out or update them as needed.
         > Please specify how involved your second-generation members were in each of the activities you report on.
         > Please add the following note and information to the
beginning of each news brief intended for the YEAR: "For 1996 YEAR; Home number; city; country." This will be a tremendous help to your reporting office and ourselves as we process your briefs.
         > Late-breaking news: If your Home is involved in any outstanding outreach activities during November or early December which are
not already covered in your January-October briefs, please send us summaries as soon as possible and we will try to include a mention of those activities in the YEAR. Please be sure to tag your briefs on late-breaking stories: "For 1996 YEAR; Home number; city; country."
         > Optional: We also hope to publish more
in-depth testimonies about well-established "consider the poor" ministries, pioneering, and the Family's response to disasters and other events in the international news. If your Home was involved in any such ministries during the past year, we would very much appreciate it if you could write a well-rounded testimony of several pages. (About 2,500 words is ideal. Again, please see FSM 299 for tips.) If you choose to write an in-depth testimony, please be sure to include a brief with your November 1st TRF, even if your full report is not yet finished.

As Peter said in his introduction to the
Grapevine, "We are one of the biggest news-making religious groups on the face of the Earth. We cover the globe -- winning souls, reaching the lost, helping the poor, singing, performing, risking our lives, all to preach the Gospel. We have miracles happening every day all around the world!" You may not think that your Home made earthshaking news this past year, but together we have got it! We expect your Home's contribution, combined with those of the rest of the Family, to cause our worldwide readers to sit up, take notice and get behind the Family like never before! Let's wow and win them! We eagerly look forward to receiving your Home's news briefs with your November 1st TRF! Thanks for your help in making this follow-up and fund-raising tool possible. We hope that it will give your Home a boost! God bless and keep you, and continue to make you a blessing!
         Much love and prayers,

         Your WS Pubs Team

PS: If this LNF did not reach you before you sent your November 1st TRF, please write and send your contributions to the '96 YEAR within the next several days, if possible, via your CRO. Thanks! WLY!
