I am the Shepherd and you are My precious lamb whom I watch over with a tender eye. My arm is outstretched to you and I beg you to come, to rest by My side, to drink out of the waters to which I lead you. Drink from the cool, clear waters of My Word and My Spirit and My joy and My love. Eat from the rich green pastures to which I have led you. Rest beneath the shade of the tree and hear the sweet music of the Shepherd's harp. When you are weary, rest within the safety of My fold. I have many sheep, and I care for each of them as if they were My one and only lamb, the most precious thing to Me.
When I see that you are encumbered about with heavy wool which you do not need, I, in My love, shear this wool from you and free you from it. But you must trust Me as I shear your wool. For the sheep do not know the outcome. They have no idea what is being done, but they have learned to trust the shepherd. They rest assured that he does it all in love, that he cares for them as his own, that all that he does he does to make life easier for them and to give them the freedom they desire. If the sheep fight and kick, it seems worse and it takes longer.
So come to My arms, rest in My love. I will cover you with My cloak. Rest your head against My chest and feel My warm and reassuring heartbeat, My heart that beats in love for you and in care for you.
