ALL THE KING'S HORSES
Author(s): Paul Michael
Songbook: Love Songs Songbook
KeyWords: Bible Characters,

In a land that once flowed with milk and honey,
Where the poor and the persecuted fled,
Seeking their freedom to worship and live,
They traveled the ocean by ship.

From the lands of England, Holland, and France,
They left for the promised land,
But soon they forgot the God who had blessed them, And worshiped the works of their hands.

Selfish, they wanted their selfish riches,
And to get them they chose war.
Not satisfied with having enough,
They oppressed and they stole from the poor.

Chorus:
"The party is over," this they shall sing.
Now pay the fiddler for your sin.
And all the king's horses and all the king's men
Cannot put their kingdom together again!

[Repeat Second Verse]

As the prophet of judgement, Jeremiah said,
"Your weapons of war shall be turned against
Your mighty cities and they shall fall,
And you shall know it's the sword of the Lord"

[Repeat Chorus]

Now pay the fiddler for your sin.
And all the king's horses and all the king's men
Cannot put their kingdom together again!
