CVC COURSE AND CREDIT REQUIREMENTS FOR JUNIOR, VOCATIONAL AND GENERAL HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMAS

         Following are study courses for the CVC Junior High School Diploma, as well as suggested credit proportioning by subjects and study areas for the 40 CVC credits required for a CVC Vocational High School Diploma, and the 80 CVC credits required for a CVC General High School Diploma. Students may, of course, earn more than the minimum required credits.

A. ACADEMIC STUDIES REQUIREMENTS

        
CVC Junior High School Diploma:

         To obtain a CVC Junior High School Diploma, students must pass the CVC Junior High examinations with a grade of 70% or more. Students wishing to prepare for these examinations should study and review the material in the non-credit courses designated "JH" (Junior High), as listed below. Those courses can be found on pages 1.ACD.3 and 1.ACD.4.

CVC Vocational High School Diploma:

         Students are required to have a CVC Junior High School Diploma, or other suitable documentation of their education to a grade eight level of achievement. No further academic courses are required for a CVC Vocational High School Diploma.

        
CVC General High School Diploma:

         Students are required to have a CVC Junior High School Diploma, or other suitable documentation of their education to a grade eight level of achievement,
plus 40 academic credits as follows:

        
1. Language Arts (ENG) 8 credits
        
2. Mathematics (MAT) 8 credits
        
3. Science (SCI) 8 credits
        
4. Social Studies (SOC) 8 credits
        
5. Foreign Languages (LN) [Optional: 2 credits may be applied as part of the Language Arts requirement, if not also counted as part of the Vocational credit requirement.]
        
6. Health and Personal Development (HPD) 4 credits
        
7. Physical Education (PE) 4 credits

         Students may make up the 40 credits as follows:

         1. LANGUAGE ARTS (ENG) 8 credits
